You’ll Love This Country Song (Even If You Don’t Like Country Music)

I’ll be the first person to admit that I’m not really a country music fan. Now, before you start a flame war in the comments, understand, I don’t have a moral issue with country music, it’s just a personal preference (trust me, you’ll probably dislike some of my musical choices, too. We can still be friends.).

Having said that, I’m going to be checking out a country artist that I hadn’t heard of before I came across this song. Dustin Collins recorded a song which perfectly nails the feelings that gun owners have towards anti-gun whiners like Mom Demand Action. The song is called “Cold Dead Hands,” and you’ll find yourself wanting to sing along. Don’t believe me? Read the first verse:

There’s a rifle in my closet, Made in 1893

Carved right on the barrel it says Winchester Company

It’s been passed through generations, I’ve been taught to use it well

It’s put food there on the table, And it ain’t never been for sale

There’s people on my TV, telling me what’s right and wrong

Not one damn gun of mine, has ever pulled the trigger on its own

Those six lines give you the idea of the entire song, and I’m willing to bet that every anti-gunner who comes across it will want to run for their safe spaces to keep from hearing something as offensive as common sense. Because Collins is right: no gun ever pulls a trigger on its own. And, then, he gives us the chorus:

From my Cold Dead Hands

It’s about you and me, ain’t no redneck thing, why don’t you understand

You can bitch and moan, all you want

You’ll get my gun from my Cold Dead Hands

Collins, who is from Kentucky told AWR Hawkins that:

Without the Second Amendment there is no First Amendment. There’s nothing that stops anybody from coming and taking what you worked hard for. To me it’s just a very simple fact of life; it’s freedom, that’s what owning a gun is. It’s the very foundation of freedom.”

Watch the video for Collins song below:

Collins gets it, and, if there is any justice in this world, he’ll be a country music superstar this year.

Share this with your friends, both gun-friendly, and, maybe especially, your anti-gunner friends.

    • Without guns, the government can infringe or take away any other right. The left says the Founders would not put firearms in the hands of people to overthrow a government they had just created. Not so, say the Founders in their own words. Rulers of all the nations of Europe had dispensed and rescinded rights based on whims. Magna Carta Libertatum commonly called Magna Carta is a charter agreed to by King John of England at Runnymede, near Windsor, on 15 June 1215. It recognized the rights of the people which are listed in our Founding Documents. Further, it essentially stated that when a ruler failed to recognize those rights and respect them, it was justification to overthrow that government and replace it with a new one. King John later rescinded those rights.

Most students of English history know that King John’s barons forced him to grant Magna Carta, the great charter of liberties that placed the English king under the law. They know that this charter, agreed by John in 1215 at Runnymede meadow and confirmed in definitive form by Henry III in 1225, is a crucial document for England’s history, likely the best known of all documents surviving from medieval England. Its attempt to impose the law’s limitations on a ruler is summarized in Chapter 39:

No free man shall be taken or imprisoned, or dispossessed or outlawed or exiled or in any way ruined, nor will we go or send against him except by the lawful judgement of his peers or by the law of the land.

Violations of the Magna Charta continued down through the ages, and under King George III, the colonists endured violations. The Founders knew first hand how governments could take away rights, just as we are seeing today. They would never have approved denying the people the right to defend their rights as their former countrymen had been denied. Had they thought in that way, there would never have been a reason to revolt and create a new form of government placing the right of the people and the power to defend those rights into the hands of the people.

  1. HELL YEH!
The way things are going in this country today. MANY are going to need to step up and defend their lives, property, and their families THEMSELVES. (mainly because the democommies and rino “elites” that run these cities are telling their “police” to “stand down” and let the anarchists (like soros/oscumbag/dnc PAID black LIES matter/antifa/laraza do what THEY want them to do.)

  2. Right now, the alt-left are resorting to violence because they lost the presidential election. All during the campaign the American people were told how violent the conservatives are. Looks like they were projecting onto the conservatives what they believe. Guess what leftist scum, we on the side of the Second Amendment know why it was put into the Constitution. To keep idiots like you from taking the country by force. Keep on, and you will find what it feels like to bring a club to a gunfight. By the way, just what does the alt stand for. I know what the left stands for, communism or socialism, neither of which have ever worked where they were tried, but does not keep stupid people from continually trying to make it work. Wake up and study history, instead of blindly following the “elite” few that figure they have found a way to profit from once again pushing a failed ideology.

    • OK, I understand “from my cold dead hands”, but I’m more inclined towards “over their cold, dead bodies”. It’s clear this is no spontaneous thing, no uprising of the oppressed, or anything near it. These are paid performers, showing up where they are told to be, and doing and saying what they are told to do and say. And, make no mistake, they are being paid to travel around the country, with their travel, lodging and meals covered by someone. If they are into fear and terror, that works both ways. Next time there’s a peaceful protest, and they’re likely to show up, wouldn’t it be interesting of several hundred people with no sense of humor were concealed somewhere close, and took down, say, the last few in line? I forget which woodland critter it is, where you pop the last one, moving forward top harvest them all………….

      • Have you folks heard the latest chant from ANTIA : ” No Hate No Trump No KKK, No Hate no Trump No USA! ” They are now openly declaring war on the country. It’s just a matter of time until they start engaging in “actual” act of deadly terrorism ( I wouldn’t be surprised if in coordination with ISAS ). The Democrats , RINOS, and MSM have come to the defense of these traitors. Looks like we are entering a new Civil War, but only one side seems to be interested in fighting it.

  3. If you like this one then, you’ll love “cold dead hands” by Wesley Michael Hayes and outlaw t. Same concept but, calls out even more.

  4. GOD BLESS OUR FOUNDING FATHERS! THEY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING! THANK YOU ALMIGHTY GOD FOR THESE MIGHTY MEN THAT GAVE US OUR CONSTITUTION AND OUR BILL OF RIGHTS! GOD BLESS AMERICA! I’M AN AMERICAN AND I LOVE AMERICA! EVEN WITH ALL OF OUR FAULTS WE ARE STILL THE GREATEST NATION IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD! I DON’T OWN A GUN BUT IT’S MY RIGHT AS AN AMERICAN TO OWN ONE IF I WANT TO AND PEOPLE NEED TO WAKE UP BEFORE CERTAIN PEOPLE TAKE THAT RIGHT AWAY FROM US!

  5. Truth in a song, that is well written. None of my guns have ever pointed themselves at anyone, I have never pointed any of my guns at anyone and hope I never have to, but I am prepared.

  6. this song makes a good point, and I agree, but don’t call that “country music”

  7. Has anyone heard the latest chant by ANTIFA : “No Hate, No Trump, No KKK, No Hate , No Trump, No USA!” Looks like they have “Crossed the Rubicon” and revealed their real agenda. Seems like we are entering a new Civil War , but only one side seems ready to fight it. It will take more than CW songs to win it.
