I think that we can all admit that 2021 was a long, strange year with plenty of unexpected outcomes. Unfortunately, most of those outcomes were bad.
But, as is often the case, it can easy to focus our attention on the bad parts and miss out on the good things that show up, too.
What good things, you may be asking? It’s a valid question to which I’ll answer with a question: How about an unexpected and, potentially, really useful partnership between two established manufacturers?
In this case, Savage Arms and Magpul have gotten together to release an updated bolt action 110 Model called the 110 Magpul Hunter. From the Savage Arms press release:
Savage® teamed up with Magpul® to pair a premium aftermarket stock with the proven 110 action. The 110 Magpul Hunter features a factory blueprinted action with an 18” threaded heavy barrel optimal for any need and the Cerakote Tungsten finish prevents corrosion and exposure to the elements. The knurled bolt handle, adjustable length of pull, and comb height options from Magpul round out ergonomic improvements to this Model 110. Those features paired with the user-adjustable AccuTrigger
allows crisp, clean shots to close out the perfect shot. Savage and Magpul thought of everyone when they created this package, available for both left and right-handed shooters.
Obviously, they’re proud of this new gun, and, to be fair, it does have some nice features. For example, the AccuTrigger is adjustable from 1.5 to 4 pounds, and it’s user adjustable. This means that you can make sure that you have a nice, comfortable trigger pull, and you don’t need to take it to a gunsmith to get the trigger pull to your liking.
Also, the 110 Magpul Hunter comes available in both .308 WIN and in 6.5 Creedmoor.
Like any other firearms purchase, what you choose to buy will be a personal decision, but if you’re looking for something a little bit out of the ordinary, then, this Savage Arms / Magpul partnership may be one to consider.
