Those on the political left have a pretty extraordinary ability to flip through mental gymnastics to justify their twisted policy positions. It’s simply amazing to see someone say something completely illogical with absolute conviction and act like they expect you to agree with them under the delusion that they’re right.
What’s worse than them expecting you to agree with them is that those on the political left are happy to use your tax dollars to use the government to force their viewpoints on us. And, of course, they like to take every inch given to them and, then, try to go a mile with it.
And that’s exactly what is bound to happen if one state’s Governor gets her wish. The BlazeTV Staff gives us details:
The woke state of New York is using “hate speech” and “safety” to justify monitoring citizens’ social media accounts using surveillance technology.
Gov. Kathy Hochul, who Sara Gonzales says “is in the competition for the worst ever,” recently came out with a statement claiming that New York is ramping up its surveillance protocols in an effort to counter online negativity.
“We’re very focused on the data we’re collecting from surveillance efforts – what’s being said on social media platforms – and we have launched an effort to be able to counter some of the negativity and reach out to people when we see hate speech being spoken about on online platforms. … Our Social Media Analysis Unit has ramped up its monitoring of sites to catch incitement to violence [and] direct threats to others, and all this is in response to our desire, our strong commitment to ensure that not only do New Yorkers be safe but they also feel safe,” Hochul stated.
Here’s why you should be concerned about these kinds of censorship efforts, no matter how well-intentioned: these kinds of efforts always end up being abused and used against law-abiding Americans. So, if this goes into effect, in an effort to make New Yorkers “feel safe,” as she said, how long will it be before she starts further trying to minimize the rights of law-abiding gun owners in that state?
And if she is successful in that, how long do you think before Joe Biden and company try to push that on a nationwide level?
It’s been said that the road to hell is paved with good intentions, and if this goes into effect in New York, an even worse hell for gun owning New Yorkers isn’t very far down the road.
