Will New Allegations Cause Americans To TAKE UP ARMS?

We live in times that I never, in my scariest dreams, thought would be seen in my lifetime. At least, not in the US. We live in times that our own Federal government has taken actions which some would say are trying to (quite literally) start another civil war in our country. And I’m not exaggerating in the least.

Now, let me start by saying that I hope that we don’t actually ever have another shooting civil war. I really don’t want people to die.

What our Federal government is accused of doing, though, is the kind of thing that our founding fathers wrote the Second Amendment to prevent against.

Again, I’m not exaggerating or being over the top. Joseph Mackinnon writes,

Court filings in the federal classified documents case against former President Donald Trump created a stir Tuesday, prompting new concerns about the nature of the FBI’s Aug. 8, 2022, raid of Mar-a-Lago.

The indication that federal agents were authorized to use deadly force prompted Trump and his allies to conclude that the raid had the makings of an assassination attempt.

Mackinnon continues:

According to a motion for relief filed on Trump’s behalf, FBI agents were directed by an “Operations Order” to seize “classified information, [National Defense Information], and US Government records as described in [the] warrant.”

When executing the raid — which was personally authorized by Attorney General Merrick Garland — agents were apparently cleared to go in hot.

The order said, “Law enforcement officers of the Department of Justice may use deadly force when necessary,” according to the filing.

So, to summarize this situation, Biden’s Attorney General personally authorized a raid on a former President’s home for documents with the agents in the raid authorized to shoot and kill people during the raid. For documents. Which were less controversial than the classified documents that the current President keeps finding from his own political career over the last 50 years.

It’s insane. And so obviously hypocritical in addition to being a clearly politically motivated move on Merrick Garland’s part.

And here is where the civil war concern comes up: Trump is wildly popular with millions of Americans. And Trump is polling strong with Americans even in traditionally left-leaning areas of the country. He’s crushing Biden in the polls.

So, the Biden administration sets up a situation with the possibility of killing someone under the excuse of law enforcement activity, and that action sets up a situation where a wildly popular Presidential candidate could have been killed. Makes it look like the Biden administration is actually trying to kill the most popular candidate (and we’re not talking about just killing his campaign but, potentially, actually killing the candidate).

This is the kind of thing that has turned into chaotic civil wars in other countries. We would be blind to ignore the possibility that the Biden administration’s actions in this situation couldn’t have the same effect here.

I hope that it doesn’t devolve into that kind of horrible situation. Believe me, I would much rather not see anyone injured or killed.

All I’m saying is that the Biden administration’s desperate actions in an effort to stop Trump from taking office again are the kind of things that, historically, have too often created even worse situations.

It’s scary to think about.

Where ever you are on the political spectrum, let’s keep it peaceful and do whatever we legally can to make sure that the would-be dictators currently in the White House don’t get another four years.
