Why You Should ALWAYS Be Able To Get Your Gun

Guns. For most of us, they’re our last line of defense against a criminal or mentally unstable person who intends to hurt or kill people.

Of course, there are people in the anti-2A camp who want to pretend that the solution is to disarm everyone and trust law enforcement to be there to save us. The problem with those ideas are that, when seconds count, police are only minutes away, and that people with evil intent don’t show us the courtesy of letting us know beforehand when they’re going to go on a shooting rampage so that we can only bring our firearm on those days.

So, those on the anti-2A side of things, then, want to push technology to detect weapons before anyone can bring them into a venue and start shooting.

A recent lawsuit tells us what’s wrong with that idea, though. Aaron Gifford writes,

A federal class-action securities fraud lawsuit against Evolv Technology accuses the global company of deceiving investors and school districts with false claims about its “AI-powered” weapons detection system.

The 39-page complaint was filed on March 25 in the U.S. District Court in Massachusetts.

The deadline for additional plaintiffs to join was May 24.

Lead plaintiff Gerald Raby, an investor, alleges that this advanced security system did not function as efficiently as even the simplest low-tech metal detector despite its claims, as cited in court papers: “Evolv is the global leader in AI-based touchless security screening.

“Unlike conventional walk-through metal detectors, our products use advanced sensors, artificial intelligence software, and cloud services to reliably detect guns, improvised explosives, and large knives while ignoring harmless items like phones and keys.

“This not only enhances security at venues and facilities but also improves the visitor experience by making screening up to 10 times faster than alternatives at up to 70 percent lower total costs.”

“The statement was materially false and misleading,” the complaint stated, “because Evolv does not reliably detect knives or guns.”

In other words, the lawsuit was filed because this AI powered technology sold to schools and other places as a way to prevent weapons from being brought into a building doesn’t work. It is accused of not actually detecting knives and firearms.

Which means that, no matter what technology is thrown at the situation, anti-2A zealots still don’t have a way to prevent criminals from doing violence to other people.

And that’s one of the main reasons why you should always have your gun on you and easily accessible to protect your life and the lives of others.
