The world of gun control advocates has to be a world filled with a massive amount of drinking or drug use to come up with some of the things that they propose. It’s just insane. If a person simply looks at statistics on violence in general over time, it’s clear to see that gun control doesn’t decrease overall levels of violence. Not at all.
On top of that, history shows over and over and over again that gun control actually leads to violence and oppression from the government. There’s a reason that one of the very first things that totalitarian governments do is to take everyone’s guns. No matter what they say about wanting to save lives, dictators aren’t taking guns to save anyone else’s life but their own. And dictators take guns so that the people can’t stop the dictator from doing terrible things.
With those things being knowledge that isn’t hidden, that isn’t a secret, and that should be easy to access for people in government, you’d think that the majority of the California legislature and the Governor of California, Gavin Newsom, would stop pushing stupid gun policies.
But they keep pushing those stupid policies.
Fortunately, not all judges in the court system buy into the leftist delusion on guns, and one court recently blocked possibly the stupidest gun law in the world. Zachary Stieber writes,
California’s law blocking people from buying more than one gun a month is blocked, after a federal appeals court on Aug. 15 removed a stay pending appeal.
“This order allows our hard-won injunction to take effect and, unless the Ninth Circuit issues a new stay, Californians may now apply to purchase multiple firearms within a 30-day period,” Brandon Combs, president of the Firearms Policy Coalition, said in a statement.
A law preventing more than one gun purchase per month is simply an idiotic gun law. Especially when you consider that criminals overwhelming do not get their firearms through legal means. So, who was this law going to protect?
It was going to protect criminals, that’s who. Protect them from legal gun owners who could shoot back… If they could buy a gun.
Good for the Firearms Policy Coalition for filing this lawsuit and getting this law blocked. The people of California deserve better than Newsom and his cronies running that state.
