Prepared Gun Owners

IMPRESSIVE! Anti-2A Bill Would Violate Both 2A AND Due Process In A New Way

Whenever you hear an anti-2A activist tell you that they don’t want to take away gun rights, that they value the 2nd Amendment, that they care about the Constitution… you should pause and ask yourself what else they’re lying about.

Now, I’m not trying to be mean here. It’s just that opposing gun rights means that they are actually wanting to take away your gun rights; limiting gun ownership and trying to disarm Americans is the opposite of valuing the Second Amendment, and trying to get rid of any of the Amendments to the Constitution (you know, like the Second Amendment) is the antithesis of caring about the Constitution.

So, if they say one thing meaning the exact opposite, they aren’t exactly being honest, are they, even if they have fooled themselves into thinking otherwise?

With that in mind, while reading today’s story, ask yourself what is really going on here. From a writer going by Mister Retrops:

If [New York bill 2025-A2228] passes into law, New York residents will have to submit to fingerprinting and a criminal background check in order to purchase a 3D printer in their state.

Yes, a bill in New York is trying to require background checks to buy a 3D printer. To take a line from Joe Biden: “Not a joke.”

It’s absurd.

Never mind that there are millions of ways to use a 3D printer in very practical non-firearms related ways that will be impeded by this bill if it becomes law.

How much innovation will the economy in the State of New York miss out on because some busybody in their legislature got the bright idea of impeding industry instead of actually trying to fix the underlying problems causing gun violence?

And then there is the fact that this bill would violate both due process (in that it tries to prevent you from a legal transaction without probably cause) and the Second Amendment. There’s nothing positive about this bill except for the PR that it will get for that legislator for their foolishness (from other foolish people).

So, when an anti-2A advocate tells you that they want to require background checks for 3D printers, don’t let them tell you that they value the Constitution, due process, or that it’s actually about saving lives.

Their actions have shown that none of that is true.
