Prepared Gun Owners

Is 1 State Trying To Get Christian Gun Owners Killed?

If you’re at church and an active shooter comes on to the campus trying to kill people, what should you do?

If you’re like normal, sane gun owners everywhere, you do your best to neutralize the threat in order to save as many lives as possible. It just makes sense, right?

One state, though, has a very different idea of what you should be doing. It’s the kind of idea that makes you wonder if they are actually trying to get Christians killed. I really wish I was making a bad joke by saying that, but I’m not. Keith Graves of Christian Warrior Training writes,

California lawmakers are at it again—this time with AB 1333, a proposed bill that would force church security teams, and anyone defending themselves outside their home, to retreat before using deadly force. If passed, this bill will legally require hesitation in life-or-death situations, making it harder for churches to protect their congregations from violent threats.

As someone who spent 30 years policing in California, I know how these things go. This bill will pass. And when it does, criminals will know they have the law on their side—because now, defenders will have to second-guess whether stopping a violent attacker is worth the legal battle that follows.

Graves continues:

But for churches still in California, AB 1333 is a death sentence for self-defense.

You can see Graves’s video update on this subject in the video below.

Now, you may be asking, “What moron thought it was a good idea to prevent people from defending themselves from people trying to murder them?”

Remember, though, it’s California where sanity and guns are rarely to be found in the same head in government.

You’ve heard the phrase, “I’d rather be judged by twelve than carried by six,” and I get the sentiment. This proposed laws in California, though, would make criminals prosecution in virtually every self defense shooting mandatory.

Think that self-defense insurance will be able to keep paying out for legal fees for cases in California without jacking up the rates there to the point that most people won’t be able to afford it? It’s almost certain to happen.

This is a terrible bill, and it really should be killed before it is voted on.

But I’m not holding my breath for that to happen.

If you live in California, you really may want to consider moving someplace else that has their collective heads screwed on straight when it comes to firearms and the Second Amendment.
