Civil Rights Violations Being Investigated By DOJ Over Gun Rights

The Trump administration is a real breath of fresh air when it comes to the Second Amendment, especially when compared to the previous four years under Joe Biden. Biden was gung ho about stripping Americans of all of their civil rights. One of the one or two biggest civil rights violations that the Biden administration pushed for was to make Americans defenseless.

It looks like that has really turned around now.

In fact, Trump’s Department of Justice is investigating violations of Americans’ Second Amendment rights, which is something that we would have never seen under Biden. Michael Clements writes,

The U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division is investigating the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for possibly violating the civil rights of residents applying for concealed-carry weapons permits.

According to a March 27 Justice Department statement, at least two people have sued the Sheriff’s Department, saying their permit applications were delayed by up to 18 months.

“The Civil Rights Division has reason to believe that those two plaintiffs are not the only residents of Los Angeles County experiencing similarly long delays that are unduly burdening or effectively denying the Second Amendment rights of the people of Los Angeles,” the statement reads.

The Los Angeles Country Sheriff’s Department denies that they’re trying to suppress gun ownership or to violate anyone’s rights.

Whether that is the truth or not, I can’t say. Certainly, anti-2A politicians and bureaucrats say that they support gun rights while doing everything that they can to take away those same rights from everyone but themselves.

What I can say, though, is that it is incredibly refreshing to see the Federal government get serious about protecting our rights as they are supposed to do.

I have to say that I’m excited to see what Trump’s DOJ will do with other gun rights situations around the country, and I’m looking forward to more Americans being able to exercise those rights.
