One way to tell what people really want is to see how they react when you change a situation. And Democrats are in a panic about Donald Trump’s appointments to positions in the Executive Branch.
They freaked out over several of Trump’s appointments. Now, they are continuing to panic over who Trump placed in charge of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. And we should be paying attention. Mark Chesnut writes,
After 14 Democrat members of the U.S. House of Representatives wrote a letter to President Donald Trump asking him to remove Kash Patel, acting director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), from his leadership post, one gun rights group is leading the resistance to the request.
On March 3, the anti-gun lawmakers, calling themselves the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, sent the letter to President Trump, spouting lies early in the correspondence.
“At a time when gun violence is the leading cause of death for children and teenagers in the United States, it is unconscionable that someone without experience fighting crime, responding to mass shootings or confronting domestic terrorism has been named as ATF’s Acting Director,” the letter, which lied about the children part, stated.
If you’ve been paying attention in previous years, these same people haven’t had any problems with inexperienced people taking charge of departments and offices in the Executive Branch before… as long as that inexperienced person agreed with Democrats’ left-leaning political policies.
And that’s really what this is about, isn’t it?
They’re freaking out because we get the impression that Patel will, at the very least, restrain the ATF from violating Americans’ Second Amendment rights and, at most, may dismantle the ATF completely (I have to admit that I’d prefer the complete dismantlement).
In that light, I’m actually pretty excited that these anti-2A zealots are panicked about Patel being over the ATF. That seems to indicate that Patel will be on our side when it comes to the Second Amendment.
