Satire Video DESTROYS 2A Musket Argument

In this world, we see and hear so many serious things. Horrible stories, hard decisions to make. Life can be difficult.

That’s one of the reasons that humor can be such a welcome change of pace. It relieves stress (if only temporarily), and it makes life both more bearable and more fun.

Which I’m all for.

And when the satire makes fun of political leftists with their unrealistic viewpoints on many issues, especially gun rights and the Second Amendment, making fun of them can be a highlight of my day.

Call me petty, if you will, but you’ll laugh, too, I think, when you see the video that I have for you today from The Babylon Bee. You can watch it below.

“Assault weapons? That sounds awesome!

And he’s right, firearms that anti-2A zealots call assault weapons are awesome. Who in their right mind doesn’t want an AR-15?

One of the best parts of this video, in my opinion, though, is that they absolutely get right the rason that the Second Amendment was created in the first place.

“Do you trust your government?”

“Of course not!”

“Then why would you want them to have much better guns than you?!? “

That gets to the absolute heart of the issue. The Second Amendment was put into place to allow average, everyday citizens to defend themselves from government oppression.

It was not put into place to defend the right to hunt for food and/or sport (though, the right to own and bear firearms protects the right to hunt).

It was not put into place to defend the right of people to defend themselves from criminals (though, the right to own and bear firearms protects the right to defend yourself or someone else using a firearm).

The Second Amendment was put into place to protect the people’s right to not be trampled on by government bureaucrats and politicians.

It’s quite simple, really.

But making that point while giving us a good laugh is a welcome way to do it.
