They’re going to try to blame this one on you and me. Mark my words.
By now, you’ve likely heard about the assassination of a Minnesota state representative and her husband and the attempted assassination of a state senator and his wife, too.
It’s just a horrible situation, and in a rare incidence of agreement, Democrat Governor of Minnesota (and Kamala Harris’s VP pick for her 2024 Presidential campaign) Tim Walz and President Donald Trump both condemned the shooting and condemned political violence.
Fortunately, the alleged gunman has been captured.
Now, both the representative and the senator are/were Democrats.
News stories are also coming out that the alleged gunman was rabidly anti-abortion.
You can bet your bottom dollar that anti-2A activists are going to use those two bits of information to try to pin the blame for these shootings on “right wing extremism” and MAGA fanatics.
Don’t let them gaslight you that way.
The fact of the matter is that the alleged gunman also had ties to Minnesota Governor Tim Walz who is anything but conservative, “right wing,” or MAGA. Cortney Weil and Julio Rosas write,
The main suspect in the horrific fatal shooting of Minnesota state Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband may have played a role in state government after receiving an appointment from two Democrat governors, including Gov. Tim Walz, as first reported by Blaze News’ Julio Rosas.
Weil and Rosas continue:
[Alleged gunman Vance Luther] Boelter appears to be the same individual who was first appointed to the Governor’s Workforce Board in 2016 by then-Gov. Mark Dayton (DFL). He was then reappointed three years later by current Gov. Walz (DFL).
So, there are ties to Democratic politicians, including the current leftist governor of that state.
But if you still have doubts, there’s this little tidbit, too, that you’re unlikely to hear on legacy mainstream media outlets.
Minnesota State Patrol has indicated that a stack of flyers for the anti-President Trump “No Kings” rally was found in the suspect’s vehicle.
The No Kings protest movement, which is alleged to have ties to George Soros funding, isn’t exactly politically conservative or MAGA-leaning. In fact, it’s the exact opposite in that the movement is specifically anti-Trump (Can you be MAGA if you’re anti-Trump? I don’t think so…).
So, when the press tries to gaslight you to try to make you think that political violence is coming from conservatives, don’t believe the hype. Political violence is and always has been a tool of the political left, not of conservatives. It’s time that we stopped letting them use that blatantly false talking point and call a spade a spade instead.
