Russian President Vladimir Putin just did something that will likely make him hated even more than the whole conflict in Ukraine has. He just signed into law a bill that, probably unintentionally, completely justifies the Second Amendment that we are fortunate to have here in the U.S.
And, of course, those on the political left here in the U.S. probably hate the Second Amendment more than any other part of the Constitution.
Why?
Because it’s the enforcement mechanism, if you will, that protects the rights of U.S. citizens from being bullied by the government.
But we’ll get back to that. First, information about the new law in Russia. An article by Reuters gives us details:
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on Tuesday allowing private security firms to use firearms to defend critically important energy facilities, the government said, expanding the range of weapons used for such protection.
The law, which takes immediate effect, follows an intensification of Ukraine’s attacks on Russian oil refineries and key exporting outlets as it tries to hit Moscow’s revenues and undercut its military capabilities.
Private firms will be able to deploy more powerful weapons, such as Kalashnikov assault rifles, to protect key sites.
So, the law allows private firms to arm their people with AK-47s (Kalashnikov rifles) and such to protect their property from Ukrainian government attacks.
What about all of those people who kept saying that you would need more than an AR-15 to protect yourself from the Federal government which has F-15s and nuclear bombs?
It sounds like Putin understands that “civilian firearms” like AK-47s, which are available on the civilian market here in the U.S., are enough to fight of a foreign government’s military.
And that type of thing (fighting off an oppressive government) is exactly why the Second Amendment was put into place. It wasn’t for hunting or for self-protection from criminals, though, those are benefits of the Second Amendment.
No, the Second Amendment was put into place to allow the American people to not be subject to an oppressive, controlling government.
And now you know the real reason why leftists hate the Second Amendment.
