HYPOCRITES: Lawmakers Want Gun Accountability, But Only When It’s Under Trump

One of the “superpowers” that most long-term politicians have is the ability to completely forget about when their party did something terrible (or even questionable) while they are criticizing the opposing party of doing the same thing now.

It’s pretty extraordinary, the ability to be completely oblivious to how hypocritical they are being.

But, I suppose, it shouldn’t come as a surprise when that type of thing happens, especially when it comes from the anti-2A side of the aisle, given the dishonesty that they exhibit when even addressing firearms and gun control.

At this point, though, you may be asking what I’m talking about specifically, so I’ll spare you the suspense:

Democrats in Congress are calling for accountability about firearms that may have made their way into the hands of drug cartels.

Now, I’m no fan of drug cartels, which may be the one piece of common ground that Elizabeth Warren and I share. But you should listen to what she and her cronies are calling for. Mike Stone writes,

Two Democratic members of Congress are pressing the Commerce Department for detailed data on U.S. exports of semi-automatic weapons, citing concerns that legally exported American firearms are fueling criminal violence and arming cartels ‌across the Western Hemisphere.

Reuters reviewed the letter sent on Sunday by Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Representative Gregory Meeks of New York to Under Secretary of Commerce Jeffrey Kessler.

Now, aside from the fact that Elizabeth Warren hasn’t had a rational thought on firearms any time that I’ve every heard her talk about them, what really annoys me about this situation is the hypocrisy.

Hypocrisy?

Yes. Remember the Fast and Furious scandal under Obama? Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder was over an ATF operation that allowed guns to go to drug cartels, but I don’t recall Warren or any other Democrat being upset about that.

It’s not hard to guess why.

Frankly, her hypocrisy about it calls into question how genuine her anti-2A politics are. Is she really anti-2A, or is why anti-2A for you and me but not for her side of the aisle?
