Let me be upfront and state that I am not generally a fan of what Vox Media tends to put out into the world. What I’ve seen has been pushing to the left while trying to keep up the appearance of being unbiased in their news reporting and commentary.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
Still, I didn’t expect Vox to put the truth out there so bluntly, a truth that, if you think about it deeper than just the surface level, reveals what is really wrong in the political climate of America these days. Zack Beauchamp with Vox writes,
Cole Tomas Allen, the suspect in the attempted White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting, is unusual among attempted assassins — in his normalcy.
His political grievances, laid out in a manifesto and social media posts, are not dissimilar from those of an ordinary Democrat. He believed that President Donald Trump was a lawless, corrupt leader who abused immigrants, perpetrated war crimes, and presented an existential threat to American democracy.
So, let me get this straight: Cole, the alleged would-be assassin of Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner was an ordinary Democrat.
And an ordinary Democrat believes that Trump is an existential threat to American democracy along with doing other horrible (unsubstantiated) things.
Never mind that Kamala Harris bypassed the primary process to become the Democrat Presidential candidate in 2024 and that Hillary, in conjunction with the then head of the DNC, conspired to keep Bernie Sanders from getting the Democrat nomination for the 2016 election.
Both of those are pretty un-democratic moves by the Democrat Party, the party whose “average” members think that Trump is an existential threat to democracy and that think that you and I are looking for excuses to shoot them in cold blood.
The fact of the matter is that the anti-2A party has moved significantly to the left over the last two decades, and that party, while wanting to keep firearms out of your hands to prevent you being able to defend yourselves against them, is the one who keeps getting guns and going after people who disagree with them politically.
The problem with American politics right now? It’s that those on the political left believe paranoid fairy tales about Republicans and political conservatives, and those on the left, then, take up arms against people who did nothing more than disagree with them.
Sadly, things don’t seem to be calming down, and it seems more and more likely that you’ll get physically attacked for not celebrating leftist political ideas. Therefore, one of the smartest things that you can do for your own safety is to training to get to and to maintain proficiency and to carry daily. The life that you save may be your own.
