What do you do if you’re Joe Biden’s ATF?
Answer: You go looking for ways to ruin the lives of law abiding service members so that you can make an example of them even though they’ve don’t absolutely nothing illegal or wrong.
Read that again. It’s not an exageration.
Joe Biden’s ATF went looking for ways to put Patrick Tate Adamiak in jail because he collected and sold non-functional gun parts, which, by the way, aren’t regulated by the federal government.
If you want your blood to boil (and it will), take 19 minutes to watch this video put out three months ago by Gun Owners of America about Adamiak’s legal situation. You’ll get some perspective on why anti-2A “officials” in government are dangerous to all of us.
Every time that I go over the details of Adamiak’s case, it just makes me livid. It was a complete hijacking of the legal system and use of lawfare to punish people who didn’t fit the Biden administration’s preferred stance on firearms.
Thankfully, though, Adamiak is finally getting some relief from his legal troubles. Kimberly Hayek writes,
Among those granted clemency was Patrick Tate Adamiak, according to the Second Amendment Foundation. He is a Navy veteran who had been serving a 20-year sentence after a 2022 conviction on federal firearms charges brought during the Biden administration.
Thankfully, also, Adamiak received support from members of Congress.
Six members of Congress—Reps. Eli Crane (R-Ariz.), Eric Burlison (R-Mo.), Jen Kiggans (R-Va.), Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.), Daniel Webster (R-Fla.), and Rob Bresnahan Jr. (R-Pa.)—wrote to Attorney General Todd Blanche, pardon attorney Edward Martin, and ATF Director Robert Cekada seeking clemency.
They called the 20-year term “an exceptionally severe outcome for a nonviolent case centered on regulatory interpretation rather than harmful conduct.”
I’m thankful for the support that these members of Congress gave to Adamiak and even more for Trump’s pardon of him.
Really, though, Adamiak should have never been charged with anything, much less put into jail.
It’s good that Adamiak is free now. Real justice, though, would see those who put him through this ordeal put into jail for their abuse of their positions as government employees and for abuse of the legal system to push an unconstitutional agenda (all anti-2A agendas are unconstitutional).
