The I-dot configuration utilizes a dot over dot method for quick vertical sight alignment and fast target acquisition. The I-dots also provide you with an extended rear sight for a bit extra sight radius and a glare reducing undercut rear face. This is a superb design for all shooters. The sights are housed in a steel frame which features a matte black finish.

Sights are completely preferential. No matter what I say about these Ameriglo Pro IDOTs, you will either love, like or hate them purely based on your own personal expectations and tastes related to iron sights for pistols. They are very well made; tritium inserts are made by Trijicon and the sights are hosed in steel so they are durable. Very nicely executed at this price point.
That said, I absolutely LOVE these sights. The orange circle surrounding the green tritium on the front sight post is impossible to ignore in daylight or well lit areas. It absolutely locks on to my eyes and I can't look away from it...which is exactly what I wanted (Clear front sight/blurry target is the standard mantra in firearms training, whether one eye or both eyes open.) In low light and no light situations the tritium is bright enough to find the sights and hit your intended target.
I've used traditional 3 dot nights sights for decades and never had a problem with them...or so I thought. I've shot expert in the Marine Corps and even spent some time on a battalion level pistol team. I've shot very well during police qualifications and my shooting abilities have helped me attain a position on or tactical team. In the last couple of years I've been exposed to new combat shooting techniques, philosophies and equipment. So one my recent purchase of a Glock 26 I swapped out the factory night sights and replaced them with these Ameriglo Pro IDots. Wow.
If you have the tools this is a change you can do yourself. A front sight post 3/16 hex screw driver and a sight pusher (both sold on Amazon). The front sight is a no brainer...unscrew the old one, replace with the new one. The rear sight is easy to remove and replace with the Ameriglo rear sight; just be sure to bench-rest fire your pistol once you've switched the sights to ensure accuracy. Make small adjustments if necessary.
Both the front and rear sight are taller than the factory night sights; not so much that you have to change holsters, but it's noticeable. The rear sight is large enough and sturdy enough to use during one-hand manipulation drills.
The biggest difference is the laser-like focus created by the orange front sight. (Just to be clear...there is no 'laser' with these sights) When using this sight I can easily find the front post and put it in the target for quick, immediate hits in the 10 ring. Anything fifteen yards and in is automatic. Once the sights are dialed in, hits from the 50 yard line are easy enough (as long as I do my part). The simplicity of this sight, just putting the front sight over the back sight AND making sure the front sight post is in the middle of the rear sight notch and aligned at the top, has made a huge difference in how my eyes are working during targeting. I've come to realize that for years my eyes have been bouncing around between the old style three dots- from front sight tritium to back sights tritium and back again, unconsciously working to align all three dots (as if they were three independent circles that I was trying to balance.) AND making sure the front post was aligned properly.
My eyes don't do that with these Ameriglo Pro IDots. It's crazy how easy it is to pick up the front sight and make sure it's in the rear notch properly. That's it. My eye/eyes stay with the orange outlined tritium and I can put that in the target easily.
I've heard some complaints about judging proper alignment at night when you just have two dots to align; one on top of the other compared to aligning three horizontally, related to your target. "How far apart should the two dots be to know if your sights are aligned properly?" All I can say is, yes, that might be an issue and the best way to mitigate that is lots of practice in low-light, no-light situations and/or have a flashlight to illuminate your target, which means you can align the post and rear notch easily.
These are well priced and very effective. I plan on measuring my results with these over the next six months and if everything stays the same as it has been for the last couple of weeks, I'll be changing all of my pistols to this set up. I can NOW see no reason not to.
------------UPDATE-------------
I couldn't really see the rear sight dot while at the indoor range. I put my readers on & it helped out a little bit. As I stated, the sights work, I was able to get a decent group after about 50ft, but when I put the factory Glock sights back on I shot better without the readers. I will be returning the ameriglow sights, they showed up when I went to the closet & closed the door, but not a lot. If I ever have to shoot somewhere where it's pitch black, then I can only see the sight & barely, almost not at all without readers & that's totally because of my failing eyesight, I'd never hit anything. The factory sights were better under normal condition, the field goal U on the rear helps me a lot.
----------UPDATE 2--------------
Well, I have learned to shoot a little better now. I shouldn't have been concentrating focus on the rear sight dot as much. Even though I returned these sights I got to shoot with them on another Glock 19. They are just as visible as most other sights in indoor conditions. I purchased Warren Tactical sights with the optic rods. After more practice I began to understand the gun & myself & how I needed more practice with it. I made another mistake in the original review, I stated I shot at 50yrds, well it was more like 50ft...I am upgrading the sights to 5 stars because now that I have seen other sights on peoples Glocks, these were just as good & about as visible & bright.

Preislich unter 100€ war super für diese Visierung, Rein fürs Scheibenschießen würde ich LPA empfehlen für „Steel Shooting“ ist diese Visierung perfekt.
