If you didn’t think that the world was crazy enough, welcome to what some are calling the “Summer of Love 2.”
If you need a refresher, the months of rioting and looting across the nation after the death of George Floyd were called the “Summer of Love,” a sarcastic reference to the hippy “free love” summers back in the 1960s.
But if you’ll remember, those riots “mostly peaceful protests” after Floyd’s death were devastating to many communities, especially since they ruined businesses in the communities where the riots were often taking place, businesses that were serving the very people that the riots were supposedly supporting.
Well, with Summer of Love 2, we get more of the fun, this time over illegal immigration.
Now, before anyone gets into a discussion about immigration, that is something to be discussed elsewhere. This article is about the dangers to you that political leftists pose to law-abiding gun owners like you and me.
So, to start, you’ll be happy to know that Democrat politicians (yes, elected officials) are threatening to dox Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) employees (hat tip to here for the lead). Matt Margolis writes,
“Every single ICE agent who’s engaged in this aggressive overreach and are trying to hide their identities from the American people will be unsuccessful in doing that,” House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) said at a press conference Tuesday. “This is America. This is not the Soviet Union. We’re not behind the Iron Curtain. This is not the 1930s. And every single one of them, no matter what it takes, no matter how long it takes, will, of course, be identified.”
So, Federal employees who are doing the job that they were hired to do are being threatened by a prominent Democrat. Jeffries is threatening. People on the ground around ICE facilities are actively doxing ICE employees and their families.
And remember doxing often comes with the threat of violence from those on the political left, so this kind of threat isn’t just an administrative threat. Jeffries is literally talking about doing something that endangers the lives of Federal employees.
Since Jeffries said that, we’ve started having the riots in Los Angeles over immigration which have been so severe that President Trump has deployed 700 Marines to protect Federal employees and Federal property because California Governor Gavin Newsom, in his typical left-leaning manner, has been slow walking cracking down on people throwing rocks, burning cars, and other dangerous activities.
Now, this is all chaotic and crazy, but here’s the thing that you need to take away from this, especially if you live in a blue state: many politicians and government officials aren’t moving (or are moving very slowly) to protect people that they disagree with politically. Those people disagree with you and me having our Second Amendment rights.
So, what that means is that you need to be ready to defend yourself if you have to. I am not suggesting that you should assume that everyone is trying to attack you. Keep a level head. Remember, your firearm is the last line of defense. Only use it if you absolutely have to to protect life and limb.
But make no mistake: those on the political left, and that means most Democrat politicians these days, would rather have rioters take you down than that you protect yourself.
We live in dangerous times. Train. Carry your firearm. Be vigilant. Keep a level head, and keep your family and yourself safe.
