Did This Democrat Politician Just Confess To Murder?

Maybe it was a moment of stress. Maybe it was just getting something off of his chest. Maybe he just couldn’t take it anymore.

I can’t tell you why a Pennsylvania Democrat appears to have confessed to murder; I can just tell you that it sure sounds like he did exactly that.

Now, sad to say, it may not come as a shock that a Democrat politicians may have committed murder. What may come as a shock, though, is how how he says that he managed to stay out of jail. Candace Hathaway writes,

A Pennsylvania Democrat made a chilling confession during a Wednesday city council meeting that may invite a criminal investigation.

Hathaway continues:

[Erie City Council President Mel Witherspoon (D)] explained that […] while in school, “Nick came in my room. I said, ‘You know, Nick, I could blow your head off.’ He said, ‘Go ahead.’ And I did,” Witherspoon admitted.

“I shot him in the head point-blank,” he declared.

Witherspoon did not provide Nick’s full name or clarify his relationship to the individual.

Witherspoon claimed that he spent only one night in jail and never went to court due to his familial connections.

“I went back to basketball. How did that happen? Because I had a family member, one of my uncles, he was involved with one of the [mafia] families. That family made a call from Newark, to New York, to Omaha … where I was at, and I was out the next day,” he said. “So that’s having the right contact at the right time.”

Frankly, that’s just mind blowing. A Democrat politician feels immune enough to police prosecution he can casually confess to murder in public.

Imagine if that were a political conservative confessing to such a heinous act. You and I would have left that room in handcuffs and police custody.

Then, again, conservatives seem quite a bit less likely to be involved in organized crime which would make it harder for them to shake off murder charges, too.

Whatever happens, though, it’s incredibly appalling that a person who committed murder has, by his own words, gotten away with it. It does prove once again, though, that it’s criminals who commit violence, not the law-abiding.
