1 Statement Made Him ANGRY: Why That’s Good

One of the things that you learn while going through life is that you can’t please everybody. Taking it a step further, it’s okay if people don’t like what you’re doing. It’s even alright to make them angry.

One of the wisest bits of advice that I ever heard, though, had to do with making specific people angry. Not because you simply want to irritate certain people (though, i will admit that it’s tempting at times). No, there are certain people that you actually want to make angry, but it’s because you know that they are just wrong about a specific subject. So, if you made them angry, you probably made the right decision.

In the political arena, I feel that way when it comes to California Governor Gavin Newsom, particularly when it comes to 2A issues. In my humble (but accurate) opinion, Newsom has never taken the right position on anything Second Amendment oriented (at least not that I’ve ever heard).

Knowing that, when I heard that Newsom was upset about a recent court ruling, I knew that the court got it right. Carlos Garcia writes,

The state of California suffered a legal defeat after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit said its restrictions on ammunition purchases were unconstitutional.

Two of the three judges on the court panel said California was violating the Second Amendment rights of residents by requiring a background check on ammunition purchases.

“By subjecting Californians to background checks for all ammunition purchases, California’s ammunition background check regime infringes on the fundamental right to keep and bear arms,” Judge Sandra S. Ikuta wrote for the majority opinion.

California’s Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom, who supported the restrictions, posted an angry statement after losing in court.

See, the court made a right decision on a California law that very clearly violated the Second Amendment, and Newsom got angry about it.

Good for the court for making the right decision in this case and for being willing to anger Newsom who is so clearly wrong about the Second Amenment.
