Did The Glock 42 Killer Just Get BETTER?

It seems like every time that you go online to look at guns, Glock is going to be the first thing that comes up (at least when it comes to pistols).

I don’t say that to gripe, but just to make the point that Glock, to a large extent, owns the mental real estate in the marketplace as the pistol brand to beat. They’ve earned it with their dependability, so, no criticism about that from me.

Having said that, I’m not married to a particular brand, and if a new gun model (or an upgrade to an already existing model) comes out, I’m open to seeing what it can do.

When it comes to small concealed carry options, Smith & Wesson shook up the market last year with the release of their Bodyguard 2.0. It’s been so popular that some have said that the Bodyguard 2.0 put .380 back on the map, and a number of people who swore by 9mm are now carrying Bodyguard 2.0s.

At least one gun reviewed asked if the Bodyguard 2.0 is the Glock 42 killer (You can find out more about that here).

Now, though, Smith & Wesson has released an update to the Bodyguard 2.0, the Performance Center model. You can watch a review of this model below.

What is the biggest difference between the Performance Center model from the base Bodyguard 2.0? Hands down it is the slightly longer barrel which includes a built in single-port compensator.

Yes, if you’ve been considering getting a Bodyguard 2.0 but wanted a compensator with it (since they’re so popular right now), the Performance Center model has you covered, and the reports are that the compensator works very well on this pistol (which really shouldn’t be a big surprise since it uses .380 ammunition).

So, is this pistol the Glock 42 killer?

To be fair, that’s probably going to depend on how loyal you are to Glock and other personal preferences.

If you’re open to shooting .380, though, especially for concealed carry, this may be a pistol to consider.
