One of the most common refrains that you hear from anti-2A people is that the U.S. has one of the highest murder rates in the world, and, they say, because the U.S. is so dangerous, of course we should ban guns.
That’s what they keep telling us, but is it true?
The answer, like so many things said by anti-gunners, is that it is true… but only if you twist the statistics.
What do I mean? It comes down to context (or the lack of context). Anti-2A politicians and their lapdogs in the legacy media don’t want you to know the context of their claim about U.S. murder rates. It wouldn’t fit their narrative.
Because, once you know the context, the logical conclusion that you’ll come to about guns is very different from the one that they’re pushing (hat tip to here for the lead). S.D. Wells writes,
Just take a ride through the busiest cities in America and you will see the littered streets of chaos, especially in the Democrat-run cities of Chicago, Detroit, Washington DC, St. Louis and New Orleans. Simply remove these 5 cities from the murder statistics of the USA and we’re barely even on the map anymore, and the Democrats want gun control? Come again?
Wells continues:
Drive 30 minutes outside of any major city and the crime rate plummets to next-to-zero. The only reason the United States ranks 128th in safest countries of the world, according to the Global Peace Index, is because of a handful of horrifically violent Democrat-run metropolitan cities. Period. The biggest factor in figuring this “safety” gauge is the murder rate.
Wells points out how much of a difference those five biggest cities (run by anti-2A politicians) makes in the statistics in the headline of their article: “USA has 3rd highest murder rate in the world, unless you subtract the five biggest Democrat-run metropolitan cities, and then we’re 189th out of 193.”
In other words, as long as you stay out of anti-2A cities, the U.S. is nearly the safest country in the entire world to live in.
What does that mean to you (other than stay out of those cities)? It’s not an illogical conclusion that the lack of access to legal guns is very likely a reason that those cities have such abysmal murder rates, and maybe, just maybe (okay, almost certainly), if the leftist politicians running those cities would allow people there to exercise their Second Amendment rights, the murder rates in those cities would plummet, too. But that would mean allowing people to be free, and they seem to hate that idea.
But the numbers, in context, don’t lie. Allowing legal gun ownership saves lives.
Unknown year, however one Alabama city , small, passed a law that required every household to have a gun, CW required also. Crime : Murder went from 5 a year to ZERO. Break-ins, armed robbery and assaults went from 15 to 20 a year to ZERO. Switzerland has a law that EVERY male go into the armed services for two years. EVERY HOUSEHOLD has a gun . Crime? ALMOST zero. Murder with any firearm ZERO . Lori the silly ugly Mayor of Chicago, are you reading this? NAW, you can’t read.
It wasn’t Alabama, in was Georgia. Kennesaw, Georgia to be exact. The year was 1982. It was a direct response to a 1981 ban on handguns within the city limits of Morton Grove, Illinois. I have used these two cities many times to explain why guns, not only are necessary, but also to show how having guns doesn’t automatically lead to more gun violence!

Actually the areas where guns are not allowed for self defense are areas that it you defend yourself from a criminal, you will probably be charged with 1, or more, crimes.
They have made self defense a crime in those areas.
Since US Cities are the source, sounds like there should be Major Crackdowns on Cities demanded by every Liberal and Conservative – if you really give a damn about victim’s rights. Since Liberal cities are the ones with the shooting issues, not to mention knife and other physical attacks. Can you really expect your “Catch & Release” programs, bleeding heart Liberal District Attorneys that do not even want to uphold the law, and not punish Criminals for “Criminal Activity” is acccomplishing some kind of harmony, YOU ARE THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM!!! Repeat offenders are getting released every minute while many of their victim’s voices are unheard, as is their life changing pain from violent attacks, if they survive at all…
Perhaps Criminally Active persons should focus their activities for their Corrupt Politicians…

Here’s a little food for thought, Let him or her who has wisdom have understanding. Nation has risen against nation, brother against brother and it hasn’t stopped and won’t stop until evil has been wiped off the planet.

They also banned 50 Caliber machine gun firearms, yeah I’m sure that the gang members are buying these paying $5,000 to $10,000, and a rifle five feet long weighting 40 to 50 pounds.

In commiefornia, shoplifter’s walk into clothing stores and grab arm fulls of clothes off the racks and walk out to a waiting car and drive off and no one does anything to stop them execpt to film it on their cell phones and post it on YouTube.
Maybe if these demoncrap run cities would stop listening to a bunch of loud mouth criminals, rioters, looters, protesters and arsonist and stopped trying to defund-abolish the police department and allowed the police to go out and arrest these criminals and put them in prison for long sentences then the crime rate would go down. It’s as simple as that.
Many of these demoncrap run cities have a” gun buy back” scheme where people can bring unwanted guns and get a gift certificate for $50 to purchase tennis shoes. If people have a firearm that they don’t want they can take it to a gun shop and sell it and get more money for it.
At these ” gun buy backs”, the police will have a uncover agent in disguise putting guns on the tables to make the ” gun buy back” look better.
Also at these ” gun buy backs” the police will have a surveillance van taking photos and videos of everyone who shows up and of their cars and license plate number.
These stupid demoncrap politicians actually think that gang members and drug dealers will show up and turn in their stolen handguns in front of dozens of police.
Many say don’t vote for democrats, but many states give drivers license to illegals and also give them a voting card marked ” Democrat”.

They say in China, people are forbidden from owning firearms and only the police, military and politiicians can own firearms.

Why is it that back in the 1950’s, a person could walk into a hardware store, gun shop or mail order all kinds of firearms with no background check, no federal forms to fill out and no waiting period and crime was much lower back then.
