Welcome, my friends, to another edition of the ever-popular series, Glock Wars! (#GlockWars).

Seriously, though, as you know, Glock is an incredibly popular manufacturer of firearms, and for a number of reasons. Like any popular topic, though, there are a variety of opinions on the subject, and, sometimes people get downright irate over the differences of opinion. So, while I won’t be surprised if the comments section for today’s article gets heated, let’s try to keep it civil, shall we?

We’re going to be looking at the Glock 19 versus the Glock 45 and which you should choose for your next pistol purchase (if you don’t already own both of them, which many of you probably do).

Now, of course, both of these guns, being Glocks, have a number of similarities besides being Glocks and being chambered in 9mm, including interchangeable backstraps, finger grooves (at least in the 5th generation), accessory mounts, being optics ready, front slide serrations (in the 5th generation), and polymer sights.

Like any good debate, though, the differences between these models mean that, there are strong differences of opinion with valid reasoning behind those opinions. For example, Kat Ainsworth-Stevens writes,

Due to the availability of new and used guns and components, the Glock 19 wins this one. It’s simply more widely available and easier to customize, not to mention you’re more likely to find one affordably priced. The Glock 19 is the winner thanks to its longevity. It’s been on the market long enough for there to be all manner of options out there for it.

On the other side, though, is the video below, arguing for the Glock 45 as the choice to go with because the longer grip length makes it a more comfortable pistol to shoot and more manageable for things like muzzle flip, even if that may make is less concealable. You can watch that video below.

So, what do you think: Glock 19 or Glock 45? Tell us which you choose below and why.
