I have to say that never once, not in a million years, did I think that I’d say that Nancy Pelosi and I agree on something. Not ever.
Now, to be fair, I haven’t studied all of her political positions, but she hasn’t exactly made herself the friend of Americans who care about the Constitution and about our rights, so, I’m not terribly optimistic about she and I finding much common ground around her political positions.
Especially the Second Amendment.
She has a long history of being absolutely terrible on the Second Amendment.
But she actually said something about guns the other day that… I can’t believe that I’m saying this… she and I agree on.
That’s right, Pelosi said something about guns that she and I agreed on. (I think that I’m getting nauseous….)
What is it that she and I are agreeing on?
Well, I’ve come this far, so, I may as well tell you…
She said that one of the primary reasons that Democrats lost to the red wave in this year’s election was due to their policies on guns.
And she’s right. Democrats have been overwhelmingly in favor of, not just gun control, but gun confiscation and disarming law-abiding citizens to make them defenseless against criminals and against government tyranny.
So, they deserved to lose this year’s election. Their awful stance on gun rights, legal gun ownership, and everything having to do with guns (despite their desperate efforts to make both Kamala Harris and Tim Walz seem like “competent” pro-gun politicians, which we all knew wasn’t even remotely true) was an important factor in keeping them out of the White House.
But going back to Pelosi, she at least got that one thing right… but she tried to, then, marginalize gun owners as primarily folks living in rural areas.
The statistics about new gun sales tell a different story about that, though. You can get those details from Colion Noir’s video below (language warning for the video).
So, Pelosi both gets it right that guns were a big factor in Democrats’ losses this year.
But she gets it wrong about which Americans that firearms are important to. She thinks it’s primarily rural folks (or, at least, is saying that to drive a wedge for political gain between rural, suburban, and urban voters).
But it’s actually people in all three areas (rural, suburban, and urban) who want guns and the right to defend themselves from the skyrocketing crime rates under Democrats (who we can thank for being soft on crime and for defunding police departments).
So, Pelosi got part of it right and an important part of it wrong.
But what would we expect from Nancy Pelosi, a woman who hasn’t found a gun control plan that she doesn’t want to push?
‘princess’ may have been partially correct (she will NEVER be ‘right) but you can bet your last green back that will NOT deter her from even more infringements in the future.
