With all of the media coverage and hand wringing that anti-2A activists bring to the table whenever a discussion about gun violence or gun control come up, you would think that these people want to look at real world solutions to solve the gun violence problem.

But you’d be wrong.

Sure, they’ll tell you that they want real world solutions, that they actually want to reduce and, ideally, eliminate gun violence altogether.

Frankly, I think that’s a noble sentiment, but noble sentiments without practical implementation are wastes of time and money and allow too many innocent lives to be lost while real world solutions aren’t being used.

And that’s one of the biggest problems with anti-2A activists. They completely disregard what has and does work to reduce gun violence because those real world solutions don’t fit the narrative that they’re trying to push.

Which is why I’m bringing you this story today so you have something to give to those who want to blindly force gun control down your throat (hat tip to here for the lead). Christian Piekos and Michelle Gallardo write,

A Concealed-Carry License holder fatally shot one of two gunmen who injured a young child and four others in south suburban Harvey on Saturday night, officials said.

That’s right, in the Chicago metro area, a rare legal concealed carry permit holder was able to stop a mass shooting from continuing.

Even in Chicago, having a trained legal concealed carry weapon holder on hand can make a huge difference in the outcome of a situation.

Of course, the situation being peacefully resolved would be the preferred method for handling conflict, but criminals don’t always give us that choice.

And that’s why it’s so very important, especially if you can find a way to legally concealed carry in an anti-2A city, to train with your firearm to proficiency and to carry daily.
