The SHOCKING Number Of Firearms In The U.S.

If there is one thing that Donald Trump is sure that Americans want more of (or, at least, he gave this indication during the 2024 campaign), it’s winning.

In fact, one of the most memorable lines from his most recent campaign was that “We’re going to win so much, you may even get tired of winning!”

Now, I doubt that many Trump supporters are tired of winning, but, regardless, there is one area in which the U.S. is the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world! That area: Gun ownership.

Yes, gun ownership. We just own that many guns. And we’re buying more everyday.

How shocking are the gun ownership statistics for the U.S.? They’re pretty incredible (hat tip to here for the lead). Cassandra McBride writes,

Report Highlights: The United States has more civilian-owned guns than any other nation. Estimates suggest the country has hundreds of millions of firearms.

– The United States has between 400 million and 500 million privately owned firearms.

– 46% of American households, approximately 65.19 million, contain at least one firearm.

– In 2026, there are 1.5 guns per U.S. resident, and 2 guns per U.S. adult (over 18).

– The majority of firearms in the U.S. are handguns (55-60%).

That’s right. We have more firearms in America than any other country on earth. As a side note, with that many guns, if legal gun owners were the drivers of gun violence, it would be clear to everyone. The fact that that isn’t clear shows that legal gun ownership and our Second Amendment are not the problem.

And I love the fact that there are two firearms for every adult in the U.S.

Knowing that makes we want to buy another CCW pistol so that I start carrying two at a time.

In fact, according to worldpopulationreview.com, the country with the next highest per capita gun ownership has about half of the U.S.’s per capita gun ownership.

It’s pretty extraordinary, if you think about it. And I’ll admit that I never get tired of this kind of winning.
