How Anti-Gunners Are Manipulating Statistics To Lie About 1 Type Of Firearm

If there’s one thing that we seem to be able to depend on, it’s that anti-gunners will twist the truth and/or outright lie in order to push their narrative. It’s sad, but it has been a consistent problem in the discussion about gun violence and gun rights in America (and, probably, the rest of the world, too).

And, frustratingly, we’re seeing that again, this time from the Los Angeles Police Department. See, they’re targeting a specific type of firearm that they don’t like, but what they’re saying to try to justify going after this type of firearm just doesn’t match the reality, when you really look into it.

The LAPD is specifically targeting “ghost guns,” those firearms that you can legally assemble and own without having to go through a background check (as if background checks have prevented gun violence anywhere). In fact, City News Service notes:

Ghost guns are often used in violent crimes in Los Angeles, according to the report. So far this year, 24 murders, eight attempted murders, 60 assaults with deadly weapons and 20 armed robberies involved ghost guns.

Between January and June of this year, 863 ghost guns were recovered, more than the 813 that were recovered during the entire year of 2020.

“Ghost guns are an epidemic not only in Los Angeles, but nationwide,” the LAPD report said.

Of course, the statistics provided in the City News Service story aren’t given any context within the overall gun violence or crime statistics in California, so, it sounds awful (and all crime is awful), but these numbers don’t tell you if the situation is getting better, worse, or is unchanged.

Fortunately, there are people who look at these things from the point of view of reality instead of an anti-gun agenda. Tom Knighton writes,

But this is what happens. [Anti-gunners] use numbers out of context in an effort to scare people into demanding regulation on something, but when you have the full context, you see how little of an issue it actually is.

It seems like the bigger issue is how little California’s gun control laws have done to keep conventional firearms out of the hands of criminals, which account for 90 percent or more of the “gun crime” in Los Angeles.

For “ghost guns” to be a real epidemic, it would seem that they’d have to account for more than just a small percentage of the weapons used in Los Angeles’ growing violent crime problem.

The only epidemic I see is people wetting their pants over such a relatively small issue.

In other words, what we have is a situation in which anti-gunners are giving statistics without context to mislead people into thinking that ghost guns are causing a waive of crime even though the statistics in context don’t show that at all.

In short, it’s a lie, and you shouldn’t believe it.

And if you want to own a gun that you legally don’t have to tell the government that you own, then, you may want to get a ghost gun because anti-gunners, like those with the LAPD, aren’t slowing down on their push to try to take your firearms from you, and they can’t take what they don’t know about.

  1. Here the gun banners go again. Come up with “scary” words to confuse the public.

When the gun banners don’t have facts or figures they make up nonsense, lie and use emotional terms.

Back in the 1980’s when Uzis first showed in gun shops, the gun banners and politicians ( after watching the TV show “Miami Vice”, ) said every drug dealer and gang member in America owned one. How would they know this? First of all, they never imported that many Uzis, and second they were very expensive. Gun shops that managed to get one would have customers come in and ooh and ahh them, but very few wanted to pay the high price for one. Now the Uzis are collectors items.

Then the gun banners tried scaring the public when Glock pistols were imported into the USA.
They lied and said that these were for terrorists to hijack airplanes, how rediculus. Do you really think any company would produce firearms for terrorists to hijack airplanes? Glock pistols are so popular, that half the police department in America use them.

Then the gun banners wanted AR15’s banned, again claiming that every drug dealer and gang member had one. Yeah right, so has anyone ever seen drug dealers and gang members walking down the street with AR 15’s? And if they are drug dealers and gang members wouldn’t that be considered a felony for them to have a firearm?

Now the gun banners are claiming all criminals have so called “ghost guns”. How would the gun banners know this? Did they take a survey?

And they make up even more nonsense about home made giuns. On TV, they claimed that a person could make a “ghost gun” in less time than it takes to put gasoline in your car. Or to order a hamburger at a fast food restaurant. What nonsense.

To properly assemble a home made partially finished receiver, one needs a machine shop to drill the fixture. Do the gun banners really think criminals are taking parts kits to machine shops to butld a handgun? Just so it doesn’t have a serial number?

Most criminals file off the serial number on a handgun. The serial number doesn’t prove anything anyway.

Instead of having politicians going after law abiding citizens and gunsmith, why don’t they go after the criminals?

Most of these demoncrap run cities have a “no bail” required and release criminals back on to the streets to commit more crime.
In commiefornia, they have shown on TV, in broad daylight, shoplifter’s walk into a retail clothing store and grab arm fulls of clothes off the racks and walk out to a waiting car and drive off. Customers in the store film this. No one dies anything to stop them. If they are ever caught, they are no charged by prosecutor because they are considered to be “poor”.

Maybe if these demoncrap run cities would stop listening to a bunch of loud mouth criminals, rioters looters, and arsonist and stopped trying to defund-abolish the police and let the police go out and arrest these criminals and put them away in prison for long sentences, then crime would go down. It’s as simple as that.

The Border Patrol has no more room for all of the illegals coming up from Central America and Haiti and they are putting them on busses and planes and sending them off to major cities and the crime rate goes up. So does the CV rate, measles, small pox, tuberculosis and polio. But the TV news media never report that.

Now there are two groups of illegals heading to America. One group just crossed into Mexico and numbers over 30,000, another group pushed past police in Panama numbers over 60,000. The leader of the groups said ” they are going to America and they better let us in or else it’s war!”

The reporters didn’t mention what kind of weapons the group was carrying.

What can a 100 Texas state troopers and some national guard do against a army of 90,000? They will over power the police, steal their guns and steal their police cars.

Many Central and South America countries are emptying out their prisons and jails and sending 10’s of thousands of convicts and criminals to America.

On the TV news, it showed in Haiti, that warlords,. who’s soldiers have full automatic weapons are controlling the docks and warehouse’s demanding extortion money. Those that don’t pay or do as they are told are shot. Now you have the same group coming to America to rob, rape and murder Americans.

People who live along the border, have had illegals steal their cars, banging on their front door demanding to be driven to major cities, demanding money, breaking into homes and robbing and assualting Americans, but the news media is quiet about that, to the news media ” ghost guns” are more important.

Do we really want millions or tens of millions of illegals flooding into America who have no job skills or education? Do you want America to end up like India with over a billion people.? And people living on the streets, gutters, alleys? What kind of life is that for our children? Is the United States to become the dumping ground for all the poor in the world?

AOC and the squad want to ban the 2nd amendment.
AOC and the squad want to replace the Constitution and Bill of Rights with something out of Castro and Stalin handbook.
AOC and the squad want to replace the American flag too.

Most of these gun banning groups are run and funded by Micheal Bloomberg, George Soros, the Chinese government, the U.N. , Russia and Mexico
Protect and support your right to keep and own all types of firearms and accessories. Don’t allow the far leftist power crazed politicians to restrict and ban firearms in America.

Remember that once the power crazed politiicians take a “right” away it’s almost impossible to get it back.

Join pro gun and pro hunting groups.

Buy more guns, ammo and magazines!

  2. Gun grabbers at it again, GUNS OF ANY TYPE ARE NOT THE PROBLEM the problem is the people that use them CRIMINALY …
Put the criminals away , dispose of the murders , and 3 time losers …

  3. Fact of the matter is that guns made at home are not intended for sale. Why should anyone building his building his own gun turn around a d register it?
Serial numbers are handy when a particular gun fails to function properly. The S/N tells the manufacturer what production run run the gun was made and can check how many others had a problem and how to fix it. It is NOT intended for tax and/or confiscation purposes. The gun prohibitionists want guns only for themselves because it is all about POWER. Nothing else.

  4. This article claims that the LAPD: wants this and wants that, and says this and says that, and provides all kinds of statistics.
Who in the LAPD was spouting all that information? Was it street officers or was it the office bound politicians with all the stars on their collars?

    • W3 – you get three chances to answer your own question and the first two don’t count 😉
I ‘wonder’ how many crimes were committed with unregistered or or non-serialized bats, tire irons, crow bars or even fists and feet. Asking for a friend.
