Current Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is a controversial figure in American politics right now. To be fair, she’s been controversial to political conservatives for years, but it seems that more and more people who think of themselves as moderates are finding her controversial, too.
Now, I’m not referring to her personal issues that have come up in news programs. I’m sticking purely to her statements as a politician and the positions that she has taken on a variety of issues.
But we’re going to focus on what she has to say about guns here (this is Prepared Gun Owners, after all).
As you may know, Pelosi and company have been pushing hard for gun control on the way to outright gun confiscation. She may say otherwise when it’s politically expedient, but it’s clear to anyone who has been paying attention to that issue.
To make it worse, though, Pelosi and her associates aren’t even being honest about guns. It’s deplorable. Emily Miller writes,
In the effort to get [a Federal assault weapon ban] passed, Biden and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) made some grand claims, which they called “facts,” about the previous ban on rifles leading to decreasing crime. But those facts don’t appear to be backed up by evidence.
“Supporters of the bans are calling their assertions ‘facts,’ in an effort to mislead the public,” Lawrence Keane, senior vice president and general counsel of the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) told The Epoch Times. “Many of the Democratic Members of Congress were purposefully misleading in their assertions that the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban reduced crime. This level of willful ignorance would be comical if the effects of what they are trying to do wasn’t so blatantly unconstitutional.”
Miller continues:
“The number of murders with rifles actually increased slightly when the ban went into effect,” John R Lott Jr., the president of Crime Research, told The Epoch Times, referring to data from the FBI’s annual release of reports from law enforcement agencies on homicides by weapon type.
You’d think that she’s afraid that the truth might prevent people from supporting gun control.
Either that, or she hopes that more people get killed. After all, that’s what happened when the ban was in place before.
The lies are horrible, and the American people deserve honesty from their representatives, not lies and political games.
This Congress needs to read the Constitution. Second Amendment. These idiots are the main reason we need term limits. I bet everyone of them has armed security with them , where ever they go.
Phil – a big part of the problem is that too many CONgress critters have read the Constitution – and choose to ignore the parts they don’t like, such as the 2nd Amendment. Spot on. But their model for all of this goes back to Obama and Holder who were very selective about which laws would be upheld and whose rights were “pre-eminent”. Members of the current administration appear to be absolutely faithful to these nihilist doctrines which, as you point out are a violation of their oaths of office.

ANY time the Fed tries to interfere in our 2nd Amendment rights, take away our self-protection, the actual effect is that intentional deaths, or ‘accidental’ deaths during other felonies, INCREASE!
Conversely, when we go the OTHER way, and REQUIRE citizens to possess guns, as in Kennesaw, Ga, not only did deaths due to assaults decrease, so did OTHER felonies and misdemeanors! WHY? For those who do not understand the meaning of ‘RIGHTS’ , we need to make it clear once and for all:
The 2nd Amendment does not apply to semi-auto rifles, nor does it apply to bolt action rifles, pistols, or revolvers. The 2nd Amendment RESTRICTS GOVERNMENT. The technology of the firearm is irrelevant.The restrictions on government remain the same, regardless of the firearm. The Second Amendment was not written to grant permission for citizens to own and bear firearms. It forbids government interference in the right to keep and bear arms, period. The right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be Infringed.
This also applies to other ‘Rights’. They are not granted, they stipulate inherent rights that the government may not prohibit.

One TRUE statistic, which the Dems ignore, is that when Kennesaw, Ga, enacted a law REQUIRING citizens to possess arms, robberies and assaults plummeted, not as was ballyhooed, would cause a horrible raise in deaths! Not all people are comfortable with guns in the house, and could get exemptions for this, but the POSSIBILITY of guns in the households was enough to stymie many criminals! Yet, many Dem-led cities with stringent gun laws have seen continual rises in gun-related deaths, as in Chicago, Baltimore, etc! These FACTS the Dems can’t deny, but they try!
