What The New Orleans Suspected Terrorist Attack PROVES About Gun Control

By now, you’ve almost certainly heard about the horrible attack that happened in New Orleans on New Year’s Day of this year.

An absolutely horrific situation, one that is being investigated as a possible terrorist attack.

If you don’t know the details of what happened, Jack Phillips writes,

In the incident, a truck plowed into a crowd of people on the city’s Bourbon Street, and after the vehicle stopped, the driver emerged and opened fire on responding officers, police said. Officers returned fire, killing the driver, police said, adding that two police officers were injured and are now in stable condition.

The death toll was initially listed as 10 people but has since been increased to 15 people, along with dozens more injured.

Absolutely terrible.

What many people in the legacy mainstream media and in Washington, D.C. missed, though, is the very important lesson that we should all learn about violence.

Read over the quoted description of what happened above again. Can you guess what the lesson that I’m talking about is?

It’s this: the overwhelming majority of the people injured or killed in this attack were killed by the truck. Not by being shot.

That’s right, this mass killing didn’t involve guns beyond the driver’s shoot out with police which happened after ten people had already been killed by the truck. Guns weren’t a factor in the mass killing despite what many people probably suspected.

And to be clear, it wasn’t the truck’s fault either.

It was the driver’s fault. It was the fault of the person who used the truck to kill innocent people.

Which brings us to the point that needs to be made: guns weren’t necessary in this situation for a personal to do horrible things. And guns don’t initiate violence.

Guns aren’t the problem. People who take action on evil intentions are the problem.

Don’t ever let anyone gaslight you into thinking otherwise.

Guns have never been the problem. The evil in the hearts of some people is the problem. Morally upright people armed with the guns are often the solution, though, to be able to stop an attack from getting worse. So, train to be proficient with your firearm and carry daily.
