Could 1 State BAN Gun-Free Zones?

In spite of all of the negative, anti-2A news out in the world today, there are actually a few states in the U.S. (well, more than a few) that have their heads screwed on straight about the Second Amendment and about keeping their populace safe.

We’re going to talk about one today.

As you know, one of the pet ideas still being pushed by anti-2A nuts is “gun-free zones.” If, for some oddball reason, you’re not familiar with the term, you can simply think of it as a place where it is illegal for anyone except the government to have a firearm.

Those on the anti-gun political left would like the entire United States to be a gun-free zone. The rest of the country feels strongly that the entire country is a constitutional carry zone, and that concept was codified into law with the Second Amendment.

One state, decided that they wanted to be explicit about dismantling (to a large extent) gun-free zones there for the safety of everyone in their state (and, maybe, especially for the children’s safety). You can get the details from Washington Gun Law’s William Kirk in the video below.

If you listened to the video, then you know that if this law passes, it would have the effect of allowing anyone with a concealed carry permit in Wyoming to carry their firearm concealed nearly everywhere.

That’s a big step closer to true constitutional carry (as in you can carry a gun in any public place at any time), and according to Mark Heinz, the bill is getting closer to becoming law. Heinz writes,

The push to eliminate Wyoming’s gun-free zones gained momentum Tuesday when a bill that would allow concealed carry in schools, the state Capitol building and elsewhere unanimously passed the Senate Judiciary Committee and is headed to the Senate Floor.

Again, from Heinz:

The bill already passed the Wyoming House. At the close of Tuesday’s session, the Senate Judiciary Committee voted unanimously to forward it to the Senate Floor.

Now, look, I think you agree with me that gun-free zones should have never been a thing. After all, they’re simply nothing more than targets for mass shooters and would-be mass shooters. So, it’s a good step in the right direction for the State of Wyoming if they’re able to, effectively, nullify them.

Now, we just need to get rid of gun-free zones completely everywhere.
