This Homeowner SHOULD NOT Have Had To Do This

When anti-2A activists push to restrict our gun rights, to take our firearms, am I the only one who wants to ask them why they haven’t done more to deal with the actual threats instead of focusing on neutering the Second Amendment?

Here’s what I mean: Anti-2A activists, in response to any kind of shooting, go to their standard demands of “We have to get the guns off the streets” or “Guns are killing people” or “Orange man bad!”

Of course, I joke about the last one, but the people pushing to strip our Second Amendment rights also tend to be the ones who blindly hate Trump because he writes “mean tweets” or because he’s Trump, not because of any policies that he’s actually implemented (because they don’t know what his policies are. They only know what they’ve been told by a biased mainstream legacy media).

And it’s that same problem that all anti-2A activists suffer from: they think that they know what the problem is, but they only “know” what biased sources tell them so that they come to flawed, biased conclusions.

So, taking the subject of violent crime: the first thing that should be done is to work to get violent criminals off of the street, not defund the police or try to excuse their actions because they had a terrible childhood. Many people have had terrible childhoods, and many people have overcome those terrible experiences to become good citizens.

In other words, there are no excuses for doing terrible things to other people with the exception of self-defense. The guns aren’t to blame for crime. The people are.

So, keeping that in mind, let’s talk about a situation that happened recently in Indiana, and see if you can identify the real problem here. Dave Urbanski writes,

An alleged home intruder — with a reported “135 previous interactions” with cops — didn’t get very far into an Indiana residence early Friday morning after the homeowner reportedly shot him in the face.

To give more context:

The homeowner was with his wife and 3-year-old child at the time of incident and is cooperating with the investigation, the station said.

Now, it’s sad that the alleged home intruder was shot, but what is really insane is that the guy had 135 previous interactions with law enforcement and was still on the street to be able to try to break into a person’s house while they were there with their wife and young child.

That’s the issue here. Not that the homeowner had a gun. Not that the homeowner shot in what appears to have been self-defense.

The issue is that anyone with over 100 interactions with law enforcement hasn’t been helped with their mental illness issues or hasn’t been placed where they need to be for both their own safety and the safety of the general public.

We don’t have a gun violence problem in America; we have a “not dealing with dangerous people” problem in this country on the part of politicians trying to actively make people less safe.

And because they keep trying to make us less safe, it’s even more important that we have and exercise our Second Amendment rights.
