The contrast in between the Biden administration and Donald Trump’s second administration is massive, and that contrast couldn’t be more clearly displayed than when talking about the Second Amendment.
Biden’s administration obviously thought that the Second Amendment was, at most, an afterthought that the Founding Fathers put in to the Bill of Rights. No matter what they tried to gaslight us into believing, they clearly did not value you and I having the right to protect ourselves.
Maybe it was because they knew that one of the primary purposes of the Second Amendment was to allow the people of the United States to protect themselves from tyranny. In other words, the Second Amendment was put into place to allow the people to defend themselves from administrations like the Biden administration.
It’s worth noting, though, the excuse that the Biden administration used to “justify” their attempts to strip us of our rights. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has been releasing documents from previous administrations to allow for real transparency from the Federal Government. One of those documents that Gabbard has declassified is “the Biden administration’s findings and action plan to counter an alleged increase in homegrown domestic terrorism.” The part that touches on gun rights is particularly worth noting. Joseph Lord writes,
The final pillar of the plan, calling to “confront long-term contributors to domestic terrorism,” is laden with potentially controversial social proposals.
This section identifies “ghost guns”—unregistered weapons without a serial number, often created via 3D printer—as one such contributor, and calls to “[r]ein in the proliferation” of such weapons, “encourage state adoption of extreme risk protection orders, and drive other executive and legislative action including banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.”
That’s right, it was the old tactic of scaring people into giving up their rights by using “ghost guns” as an excuse to prevent you and I from exercising our Second Amendment and Fourth Amendment rights. Because if you and I have Fourth Amendment rights, that means that the government doesn’t have the right to track what firearms that you and I have.
It’s typical leftwing political garbage, pointing out real problems (such as the possibility of terrorism) and, then, advocating to put into place programs that would do the exact opposite of solving the problem. To be clear, interfering with people’s right to own a firearm without the government getting involved, tracking, or even knowing about it, makes people less safe, not more safe.
The Second Amendment, according to the Constitution, is an absolute right. Without it, none of the other rights are enforceable.
But the Biden administration clearly didn’t care about what was legal or right. They cared about power.
Thankfully, they’re no longer in the White House.
