In the firearms world, just like any other specialized area, there are a few standards that other guns will be compared to and, in some ways, measured against.

ARs. Glocks. 1911s.

It’s 1911s that we’re going to talk about today, specifically a new variation being offered by Alpha Foxtrot. In this case, they’ve taken the 1911 and shrunk it down to a compact size so that 1911 fans who have been having to go with a different type of pistol for their daily carry needs can now get their 1911 fix with their daily carry weapon. Adam Borisenko gives us details:

Featuring a 3.5-inch barrel with an integrated compensator, it should be supremely shootable despite its small size. Thanks to its slim-profile aluminum frame, it should be pretty light on the belt and easy to conceal, too. It feeds from Glock 43X/48-pattern magazines, and each pistol ships with three Shield Arms mags, including a 10-, 15- and 20-rounder. The 10-rounder offers you ultimate concealability while the 20-rounder offers maximum firepower and a larger grip.

Now, the Attila is in 9mm, so those of you wanting a compact 1911 in .45 won’t be able to scratch that itch with this gun.

But for those of you who love the 1911 for its styling and design, the Attila may meet that need.

The Attila is a double-stack pistol (with that capacity, could it be any other way?), and while Alpha Foxtrot hasn’t listed an MSRP for the Attila on their website at the time of this writing, Borisenko notes that online retailers are pricing it at around $1,000 right now.

If you’d like to get a better look at the pistol before going to get one, you can see it in the video below.

So, with this option now available in a size convenient for daily carry for most people, is this the pistol that you’ve been waiting for (because you love 1911s)? Tell us in the comments below.
