The United States is unique among the countries in the world for many reasons. Of course, one of the big differences is the Second Amendment’s protection of the right of American citizens to have and carry firearms.
Frankly, it’s one of the reasons that I didn’t move out of the country even when demagogues like Barack Obama and Joe Biden were in the White House and tried to turn our country into a clone of leftist regimes in other parts of the world.
After all, in other countries, they have a much more difficult time keeping their politicians in check because the governments in most countries are the ones that own nearly all of the guns.
To be clear, though, the benefits of gun ownership don’t stop at just making the government remember that they aren’t the ones in charge; the people are. No, the benefits include being able to protect yourself from criminals who don’t pay attention to gun control and gun confiscation laws. Ignoring laws is what criminals do, after all.
And some people in one country in particular wish that they had their guns back to protect themselves from criminals coming into their homes. Crystal-Rose Jones writes,
[A] movement calling for some variation of [castle] law is growing.Over 120,000 have signed a petition started by Katter’s Australian Party (KAP) in Queensland.
KAP Leader Robbie Katter says the petition is now the largest in the state’s history.
The outback MP says people are tired of crime and the legal tests required to prove their innocence if they fight back.
Jones continues,
Down south, Victorian Libertarian Leader David Limbrick also wants Castle Law in Australia’s second-most populous state; his own petition has garnered more than 19,000 signatures.
It’s an easy thing to understand. People in Australia, disarmed by their own government, want to be able to defend themselves from criminals (who are often armed) without being treated like criminals themselves simply because they don’t want to die at the hands of someone with evil intent.
Frankly, it’s insane that they even have to go through this process to get a portion of their firearms rights back.
But that’s what happens when you let anti-2A activists, who almost never consider the long-term consequences of their anti-gun policies, run the country.
And that’s why we have to consistently work to keep our rights here, too.
In the US, we have our 2A gun protection. We also have our idiots that don’t want to carry guns, that’s okay, but. I’m thinking we have over 4 million trained veterans and another 10 million or more trained civilians. From the age of 12 to retirement. We have shooting schools, military and civilian. I think every country thinks twice about invading us. We have the firepower to protect our country, if we stick together.
Look what happened to Ukraine, if every civilian had a weapon and training. I don’t think Putin would have thought twice, that Ukraine would have been a pushover. Australia it’s something to think about. If the Ukraine citizens had pulled together. I do not think they would have abandoned their country and gone to other places of safety. I’m thinking, I might be wrong, no guns in Russia because of Stalin , no guns in China or North Korea. And you morons here in the US want to get rid of our 2a guns and end up in a war (here) like Ukraine. Or in a dictatorship, like Russia, China, North Korea, for an example. We fought for our independence from England, (4th of July) history has a way of repeating itself.
