Don’t be fooled by what those on the political left say. They aren’t against gun ownership and gun use.
What they are against is gun ownership and use for you and me.
To prove my point, let’s take a look at a recent situation in Texas.
Recently, several accused Antifa members were arrested and put on trial for charges relating to their attack on an immigrant holding center.
Now, whether or not you support the current administration’s actions on immigration (and if you don’t, then explain to me why you supported the same actions when both Obama and Clinton did the same thing while in office), an attack on federal officers and on a federal facility are against the law.
They’re clearly criminal under current laws and legal rulings.
If you want to fight the law, be my guest (as long as no one gets hurt), but I keep having flashbacks to both Bobby Fuller and The Clash: “I fought the law, and the law won.”
And eight alleged Antifa members found out that the song lyric is true: if you attack federal officials, especially if you pull a gun on them, things aren’t likely to go your way. Darlene McCormick Sanchez gives us details:
Eight defendants in a landmark Texas Antifa trial were found guilty on March 13 of terrorism-related charges, carrying explosives, and rioting in a shooting incident at an immigration facility outside Dallas on July 4, 2025, that left one officer wounded.
Also:
Additionally, Benjamin Song, the defendant identified by prosecutors as the shooter in the attack on the facility, was found guilty of attempted murder and discharging a firearm during a crime of violence.
The officer was shot in the neck seconds after getting out of his vehicle at the scene, but he survived.
Clearly, this whole situation was poorly thought through (if thought through at all) on their part.
Thankfully, no one died, but it’s pretty disturbing that politically motivated gun violence is now being committed by those accused of being domestic terrorists for possibly the first time.
The fact that you can’t predict these kinds of horrible situations is one of the reasons that I want to urge you to train to get to and to maintain proficiency and to also carry everyday.
