Well, Glock fans (I know that there are a lot of you), if you live in California (not sure why you still are, based on their government’s hostility to legal gun ownership) or if you will be moving to California (again, not sure why you would), you can finally get a Glock model that many people love. In fact, one famous YouTuber called it Glock’s “best concealed carry gun.”
What is that model? The 42X, and, yes, it looks like it will finally be available in California. Brian Jensen gives us the details:
On Tuesday evening, September 29th, 2026, California gun owners were surprised to see a new gun on California’s Roster of Approved Handguns. The Glock 43X, a 10-round micro-compact model from their slimline models, was added. This means the pistol passed lab drop testing and likely met the state’s requirements for a loaded chamber indicator and magazine disconnect safety. More details will follow on the pistol itself in the coming weeks. There is no specific timeline for its appearance on gun store shelves. There has not been a new Glock model added to the California Roster since 2006-2008, making the Glock 43X CA the first new Glock added in almost twenty years.
Nearly 20 years to wait for a new model from one of the most popular pistol manufacturers in America? That’s absurd.
Then again, the gun control that Sacramento has been foisting on the rest of the state is downright stupid by any rational measure.
And, as Jensen mentioned, we still don’t have a firm date as to when that model will be available to buy in California, so any celebrations at the time of this writing would be premature.
