Accused ‘Stolen Valor’ Shooter Alleged To Have Attacked Trump Voters

Just when you think that stories can’t get any stranger, they somehow do actually get stranger. And today’s story is exactly one of those kinds of bizarre stories.

Now, you may have heard about the shooting that recently happened in Seattle, Washington with one man demanding that a man in a wheelchair show identification to prove that he is a military veteran. That situation ended up with the guy demanding identification allegedly shooting a man in a wheelchair (the man that he was demanding identification from).

It’s a pretty strange situation and is disturbing in that someone was apparently shot over something that isn’t even remotely life threatening.

But to amp up the bizarreness factor of the story, new information about the alleged shooter recently came to light. Paul Sacca writes,

A man accused of shooting a 68-year-old wheelchair-bound veteran at point-blank range over a “stolen valor” dispute in a shocking video recorded late last month reportedly drove a car into a tent of supporters of President Donald Trump during a 2020 Republican Party voter registration drive.

That’s right. The guy who is accused of shooting a man in a wheelchair over allegations of stolen valor (even though the man in the wheelchair apparently actually is a Navy veteran) was arrested just a few years ago for driving a car into voters. The reason that he tried to run over Trump voters?

Timm reportedly admitted to cops that he purposely ran into the tent because he “does not like President Trump.” There were no injuries.

Neither of these situations indicate the behavior of someone who is thinking rationally. No matter what your belief systems about “stolen valor” or about Donald Trump, neither of these situations remotely justify acts of violence against another person.

It’s just an utterly bizarre story. Fortunately, the Navy veteran who was shot did not receive injuries that were life threatening, and he has already been released from the hospital.

The alleged shooter, though, sounds like he could be in need of quite a bit of therapy to help develop the ability to think before acting.
