Is This The NEXT Step In Banning Guns?

One of the great ironies of life is that those on the anti-2A side of politics who say that they want gun control and to ban guns to “keep everyone safe” are the exact people that everyday Americans like you and me are trying to keep ourselves safe from.

How many criminals tend to vote for pro-2A political candidates? You don’t tend to hear about them. And anti-2A political candidates are the ones that tend to happily use laws that they passed and the power of government to try to get what they want whether anyone else agrees with them.

And if they can’t do that, then, those same anti-2A people are the sue happy people clogging up the court system.

Do you think that I’m exaggerating about that? I’m not, actually. And we have proof of that for you today. John Crump writes,

The mayor of Philadelphia has called for the families of the victims of a mass shooting over the Independence Day holiday to sue gun dealers, and gun shows out of business.

The city of Philadelphia has been plagued with violence under the leadership of Mayor Jim Kenney since he took office. The city has attempted to restrict the Second Amendment rights of its residents, leaving them defenseless against criminals and gangs that infest the City of Brotherly Love.

Over the long holiday weekend, a crazed madman disregarded the city’s laws and shot and killed five people, including a fifteen-year-old boy. Instead of addressing the violence that infests the nation’s birthplace, the mayor has targeted the gun industry by pushing the victim’s families to file lawsuits against gun shops and shows, claiming that these businesses should not have sold guns to the shooter.

The mayor didn’t say what “red flags” the murderer exhibited.

You can see a brief clip of the mayor talking about his thoughts on the situation below.

Now, I don’t know the specifics of where this shooter obtained whatever firearms that person used to do these horrible things. I do find it interesting, though, that the mayor immediately jumped on the idea that gun dealers and gun shows broke the law in some way in order for this person to have firearms. Never mind how many reports of the ATF’s background check system failing, and never mind that most criminals get their guns illegally (in other words, not from a legal firearms dealer or gun show transaction).

Does he know that the criminal purchased their guns through legal means? No, he doesn’t. The fact that, in the above video, he talked about finding out where the guns were obtained clearly shows that he is jumping to conclusions in order to demonize gun dealers.

In truth, what he should be doing is encouraging the law-abiding majority in his city to get their own legal firearms, get trained, carry daily, and scare criminals and would-be murderers into keeping their evil tendencies to themselves.

Until, then, keep an eye on these anti-2A politicians who may starting trying to sue to get the result that they can’t get through legal means (in other words, through passing laws).

  1. Yep, figure out where he (pronoun “he” assumed) got these guns. He might be a legitimate gun purchaser, probably not, and if not, the guns did not come from a legitimate gun dealer. But to say on the air that everyone who was hurt or had a relative killed should sue the gun dealer and gun manufacturer is irresponsible. No matter what, you cannot stop a crazy person from killing people by using any means available.

  2. Timothy McVeigh used a U-Haul full of fertilizer to do his dirty deed in Oklahoma City. NO ONE CALLED FOR A BAN ON U-HAULS..OR FERTILIZER. It’s not the weapon but the SICK HEART IN MAN. I’ve had guns for 50 yrs, and they have never killed anyone yet!!!

    • Same here and they don’t do anything without an operator .
With their logic everything should be banned, but yet they blame the operator of everything else .

  3. What part of history have these people missed, throughout history gun control has been sold as public safety when in fact it was used to control and kill people either by the government, people brainwashed by the government, or criminals …

  4. There’s nothing illegal about a private sale between two people Nor should there be. Loonies had spears, bows, and arrows, before they had guns — and they’ll probably have whatever comes after, as well.

  5. Mayor Kenney is an effing leftist, anti-gun idiot. Criminals don’t get their firearms from an FFL dealer. Criminals cannot pass the background check, and yet the law doesn’t prosecute these criminals. Criminals get their firearms on the black market or they steal them. FFL dealers didn’t sell those black market firearms or stolen firearms to the criminals. Before an FFL dealer purchases a firearm from anyone, they check to see if the firearm is stolen. Therefore FFL dealers cannot be sued and neither can any firearm manufacturer.

  6. Michael:
Mayor Kenney is quite simply another Democratic Leftist politician who aspires to gain the support and adoration of lazy Joe and Kamala, his heroes. This entire tragedy could have potentially been a Non-occurence had people who know or live and work near or with the perpetrator seen something wrong about him and reported it long ago. Kenney is clearly following the playbook script of Biden / Harris aimed at weakening our rights by disarming the populace of our great land. Damn him.

  7. Well, I guess they also going to have a lawsuit against the fork and spoon industry for making people fat…!! This mayor is not that intelligent. They think is OK to take the guns away but you look at them and they walk around with their body guards as they think they are more important than you and you and your family don’t matter. And I would say he is as dumb as a bag of hammers…

  8. They tried to ban all hand guns in Australia, it didn’t work out to well, crime rates went up significantly, because the criminals knew nobody could own a firearm, let alone carry one concealed, the law abiding citizens of Australia were left defenseless. What the politicians should be doing is stepping up law enforcement and hiring more police officers. Have more officers walking a beat rather than just cruising around in a police car, because when an officer is present on the streets criminals tend to fade away in to the background. We are starting to use this idea in the San Francisco area, no data yet as to how effective it is, but it’s a start.
