One side of the political aisle likes to complain about very wealthy people in America. They’ll talk about the heads and founders of large companies and have nothing good to say about them.
But if you pay attention, you’ll notice that some billionaires simply aren’t on progressives’ gripe list. Certain wealthy people only get talked about in glowing terms, and their money only gets brought up when it gets mentioned in passing that the money goes to their candidates and causes.
Specifically, when was the last time that you heard Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren criticize anti-2A billionaire Michael Bloomberg (except when they were all running in the Democratic primary to be President)?
You probably haven’t. Because it hasn’t happened.
And the hypocrisy is appalling.
They’ll complain about Trump donating to Republican candidates, but how often will you hear the following details, which were actually (surprisingly) reported by Reuters?
Bloomberg’s team told the New York Times that he was sending about $80 million to Democrats in September and October.
Bloomberg’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The New York Times said at least $50 million of Bloomberg’s money was being used for House races, including $24 million for Everytown for Gun Safety, a group Bloomberg co-founded. He was also giving $16 million to House Majority PAC, the main super PAC aligned with House Democratic leadership.
Bloomberg is donating quite a bit of money to candidates who, you can bet, all are wanting to take away your 2A rights.
And Bloomberg has the right to give money to whatever candidate that he wants. You can still do that in America, no matter what Bloomberg would prefer.
But you can also bet that you almost certainly won’t read about his donations in the legacy mainstream media because they run cover for him and for those on the political left.
It’s absolute hypocrisy, and we need to keep working to educate people to vote for candidates to keep our 2A rights.
