Remember writing reports in school with a minimum word count? You’d count every word, find ways to make phrases longer, add extra adjectives and unnecessary phrases. Anything to pad that word count out.
Why? Usually because you didn’t really have anything to say about the subject that you were writing about.
Now, you probably laugh about those reports from when you were in school, but I’m sure that it was torture for your teacher to read through something so boring, repetitive, and lacking in thought or information (it can’t have been just my reports that were like that, can it?).
Kind of like listening to a speech by Vice President Kamala Harris.
Boring, repetitive, and saying absolutely nothing of substance.
And it’s no different when she’s talking about guns. A writer going by Larry Z writes,
This week, Harris was in Atlanta and as part of her trip, she stopped by a summit hosted by the Rocket Foundation.
What is the Rocket Foundation? It’s a non-profit created by a local rapper that works, in part, to reduce gun-related violence. A worthy goal no doubt.
But, as you can imagine, Harris did not address the elephant in the room during her entire, almost, 30-minute Q&A.
She regurgitated a lot of White House platitudes about the “cowards” who support the “gun lobbyists” and the putative evils of so-called “assault weapons” but did nothing to call out the fact that gangs and drugs are the primary driver of violence that affects black people. Specifically, young black men.
That’s right, Harris blamed a group (legal gun owners) who have a lower crime rate than even law enforcement officers instead of placing the blame on where gun violence is actually concentrated: gangs and drug users/dealers.
The fact of the matter is, though, that Harris, along with Biden’s Department of Justice, doesn’t really care about the root causes of gun violence. If they did, they would be going after drug dealers as hard as Biden’s DOJ has gone after January 6th protesters and people praying in front of abortion clinics (and they’ve been going after those two groups hard).
No, for the Biden administration, gun violence isn’t actually something that they want to solve. It’s a convenient topic to get a particular group of uninformed, emotionally-driven voters (anti-2A zealots) mobilized and voting Democrat.
And it’s just disgusting to watch.
I’ve been saying for years; “Gun control only protects criminals and crooked politicians”! Just ask creepy Joe if he has ever walked into a gun shop and said “I want to buy an assault rifle”. If he did, he would have gotten the same answer: None of these guns are marketed and labeled as “ASSAULT RIFLES”! No such thing, assault rifle is a made up term by gun haters in conjunction with the biased gun hating media!
Tex – you were close and your sentiment is okay. There really are such things as “assault rifles” – for instance the current version (M-4) of the venerable M-16 series is by definition an assault rifle. The original is the Sturmgewehr 43 (prototype – named as such by adolf) which became the Stg44 as the production model
What adds to the confusion is the use of the totally made up term ‘assault weapon’ coined by one each art agnos and ‘popularized’ by josh sugarmann with the specific intent to confuse people.
One can actually buy an assault rifle although the legal pool of them is very limited due to the horrendous hughes amendment to FOPA ’86 and they are very expensive.

The 2nd Amendment was never intended to give you the Right to Hunt. It was never intended for the shooting sports of target shooting it was in fact the 2nd Amendment to protect all the other amendments of the Bill of Rights. You have a God Given a Natural Right and a Human Right to Defend yourself. The only way to stop gun violence is with a gun. When you have a gun free zone you are inviting an active shooter to shooting fish in a barrel with impunity. Remember the thugs will not obey the laws of the land they will have guns when they shouldn’t. Another way to put it is would you prefer to have the police on speed dial or a model 1911 .45 with 2 extra magazines during a home invasion. Keep in mind the police are only minutes away when your life is on the line in a matter of seconds. Sandy Hook Columbine and all other mass shooting active shooting scenarios could have been avoided if the cowards on hand were armed and knew how to use their firearm. Jon Lott the author of the book “More Guns less Crime” said that more felonies rapes murders and robberies are thwarted every year then the accidental shootings of children in crossfires and suicides. These are of course tragedies but they are collateral damage compared to if the American society was disarmed. England and Australia warned us not to let happen to us what happened to them. When they disarmed the people crime sky rocketed. Do not allow this to happen to you. The original Department of Homeland Security was in fact the NRA of which we were a freer and safer nation. Since the Department of Homeland Security the situation got a lot worse. With illegal migrants that are criminals entering our country un-vetted and with the possibilities of the grid going down, we would all be sitting ducks for the exploitations of illegal gun owners. It is your duty to protect your self and your family and your neighbors. The police will admit to you that they do not have any legal obligation to protect you at all. Most cops would wet their man panties if they ever came across a really bad armed career criminal. So to stop gun violence you must carry concealed.
