One of the most deeply offensive narratives of anti-2A zealots is the idea that legal gun owners are the dangerous people in society. Not criminals. Not gang members. Not mafia hitmen. Legal gun owners.
It’s absolutely appalling, and it’s (maybe intentionally) insulting.
Why?
Because statistically legal gun owners commit fewer crimes per capita than criminals, gang members, members of the mafia, or even law enforcement officers.
In fact, if for no other reason than that, if you truly want a safer society, you should want more legal gun owners.
To make the situation even more insulting, it’s worth pointing out who are the dangerous people when it comes to gun ownership. And I mean, in the real world, who are really the dangerous ones.
A recent article from Blaze News perfectly illustrates who the dangerous people in society really are:
A California man has offered to plead guilty to plotting to assassinate Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh over the Dobbs decision draft leak and the possible expansion of gun rights.
Nicholas John Roske is accused of flying across the country in June 2022 and taking a taxi to the Maryland home of the justice while armed with a handgun and a knife. He was wearing all black and had zip ties with him but turned around after encountering Kavanaugh’s security detail.
So, it was the political leftist, anti-2A zealot… who had a gun… who intended to use said gun to assassinate a Supreme Court justice over a disagreement on a court ruling.
Is that the way that civilized people handle disagreements? Is that the action of someone who is a member of the “tolerant” side of the political aisle?
No.
But Roske isn’t unique in being a hypocrite about wanting to use violence to push his political agenda while that agenda pretends to have the moral high ground by saying that they’re trying to save lives. That’s the way that extreme anti-2A activists usually are.
And the fact of the matter is that the people who are dangerous with firearms are the very people who want to prevent you and me from having guns.
We’re not the danger to society. We’re not the ones threatening violence. It’s those on the political left, which anti-2A activists overwhelmingly belong to, that are the ones that are prone to committing violent crimes.
Remember that, and keep doing all that you legally can to fight for our Second Amendment rights.
