Pistol Caliber Carbines (PCC) are an interesting firearm to me. With rifle elements but, at the same time, with pistol elements, it’s (to use a car metaphor) like the crossovers between pistols and rifles.
And like crossovers, you hope that a PCC has the best of both worlds while avoiding what may be a drawback from either world for the PCC buyer.
With that in mind, today we’re looking at a rather budget-friendly American made PCC. How budget-friendly? We’re talking about an MSRP of $469.99 which means that you know that you’ll find it cheaper at retail shops.
Which is a great price on most American made firearms (even pistols if you have any accessories) if they are dependable.
And the reports on this PCC are that, yes, it is dependable. Paul Peterson summed up his review of the gun that we’re talking about today this way:
While this is a fairly unrefined gun, it has a lot of features I would only expect to see on more customized options in the realm of pistol-caliber carbines. For the price, the Jawbone is downright a steal in terms of reliability, compactness, shootability, and the ability to run common Glock-pattern 9mm magazines.
If you are looking for an affordable, high-volume plinking PCC, this is a great option. It would also provide decent service for things like home defense or as a backup trunk firearm. The controls are easy to use, but they are a bit too easy to bump for this to be a go-to tactical option.
However, for the money, this is a great place to enter the 9mm PCC game, which is booming right now. Plus, the Jawbone is ready for a suppressor if you want to plink quietly.
So, not a fancy gun, but reliable and reasonably priced.
And people seem to enjoy shooting this PCC as you can see in the video below.
Now, obviously, whether you should pick up a GForce Jawbone for your collection is your decision to make based upon what what you’re wanting to accomplish and your budget.
But if you’re interested in or, at least, curious about trying a PCC, this may be one to put on your list to consider.
