The District of Columbia (Washington D.C.) has some of the strictest
gun control laws in the U.S.
So, a gun-grabbing liberal would think that D.C. would be the safest place in our country.
They would be thinking wrong.
Here’s an example of what actually happens in the area with some of the strictest gun-control laws according to a report at Fox News:
Police arrested five people for allegedly shooting at officers in Washington, D.C., early Tuesday, officials said. No injuries were reported.
The group allegedly fired at police to avoid arrest, not as part of a targeted attack on cops, a police official told The Washington Post.
So there’s your law-making liberal tax dollars at work folks. Putting gun control laws into effect that have no affect whatsoever.
A gun-free zone close to our Nation’s capital, that has criminals who carry guns in it … who would have thought?
And these criminals, who don’t care about gun control in the least, are aiming their guns at our Police force.
So that’s a big 0 for 2 in the “effective” Liberal Government dept. in our book.
Any one with a modicum of common sense has to realize that establishing gun-free zones as a safety measure simply ensures any would be criminal that they stand a better chance of committing mayhem in that zone than anywhere else, and attracts the felons to do so.When a shooter is committing a felony by shooting someone,they are going to welcome the idea of a gun free zone to do it in.
You just spoke Greek to all politicians. We need more armed citizens that will defend themselves and their fellow man. Gun free zones only invite criminals to do what they do. Washington DC is full of criminals to start with, look who lives there. Does the word “politicians” ring any bells? Just saying.
Probably will never hear anything about it because #1 No cop was hurt or killed, #2 the perpetrators were probably black, and #3 this does not fit the Democrat’s narrative whatsoever. Fourthly, no liberal reading this article will believe it happened.

I think a very conservative number would be around 10 million former “law abiding citizens” will not register or surrender their guns. I know I won’t.
Neither will I ! All are correct in the statements that the only way crime will be brought to a minimum or stopped is to be armed. When criminals KNOW There is imminent danger to themselves, they tend to look elsewhere.
They always seem to never care until it’s their life on the line.
The Gun Control Farce
Surely murder is a serious subject, which ought to be examined seriously. Instead, it is almost always examined politically in the context of gun control controversies, with stock arguments on both sides that have remained the same for decades. And most of those arguments are irrelevant to the central question: Do tighter gun control laws reduce the murder rate?
That is not an esoteric question, nor one for which no empirical evidence is available. Think about it. We have 50 states, each with its own gun control laws, and many of those laws have gotten either tighter or looser over the years. There must be tons of data that could indicate whether murder rates went up or down when either of these things happened.
But have you ever heard any gun control advocate cite any such data? Tragically, gun control has become one of those fact-free issues that spawn outbursts of emotional rhetoric and mutual recriminations about the National Rifle Association or the Second Amendment.
If restrictions on gun ownership do reduce murders, we can repeal the Second Amendment, as other Constitutional Amendments have been repealed. Laws exist to protect people. People do not exist to perpetuate laws.
But if tighter restrictions on gun ownership do not reduce murders, what is the point of tighter gun control laws — and what is the point of demonizing the National Rifle Association?
There are data not only from our 50 states but also from other countries around the world. Professor Joyce Lee Malcolm’s empirical study, “Guns and Violence: The English Experience,” should be eye-opening for all those who want their eyes opened, however small that number of people might be.
Professor Malcolm’s book also illustrates the difference between isolated, cherry-picked facts and relevant empirical evidence.
Many gun control advocates have cited the much higher murder rates in the United States than in England as due to tighter gun control laws in England. But Professor Malcolm’s study points out that the murder rate in New York has been some multiple of the murder rate in London for two centuries — and, during most of that time, neither city had serious restrictions on gun ownership.
As late as 1954, “there were no controls on shotguns” in England, Professor Malcolm reported, but only 12 cases of armed robbery in London. Of these only 4 had real guns. But in the remainder of the 20th century, gun control laws became ever more severe — and armed robberies in London soared to 1,400 by 1974.
“As the numbers of legal firearms have dwindled, the numbers of armed crimes have risen” is her summary of that history in England. Conversely, in the United States the number of handguns in American homes more than doubled between 1973 and 1992, while the murder rate went down.
There are relevant facts available, but you are not likely to hear about them from politicians currently pushing for tighter gun control laws, or from the mainstream media, when those facts go against the claims of gun control advocates.
Despite hundreds of thousands of times a year when Americans use firearms defensively, none of those incidents is likely to be reported in the mainstream media, even when lives are saved as a result. But one accidental firearm death in a home will be broadcast and rebroadcast from coast to coast.
Virtually all empirical studies in the United States show that tightening gun control laws has not reduced crime rates in general or murder rates in particular. Is this because only people opposed to gun control do empirical studies? Or is it because the facts uncovered in empirical studies make the arguments of gun control zealots untenable?
In both England and the United States, those people most zealous for tighter gun control laws tend also to be most lenient toward criminals and most restrictive on police. The net result is that law-abiding citizens become more vulnerable when they are disarmed and criminals disobey gun control laws, as they disobey other laws.
The facts are too plain to be ignored. Moreover, the consequences are too dangerous to law-abiding citizens, whose lives are put in jeopardy on the basis of fact-free assumptions and unexamined dogmas. Such arguments are a farce, but not the least bit funny.
“GUN FREE ZONES” Might as well have a sign that reads as follows: Criminals, gang bangers, terrorists and other America hating malcontents, for your convenience and safety we have totally disarmed this establishment, so, please come in, have your fun because the police and other first responders are at least 5 minutes out; so have fun and have a great day … your local non-thinking liberal.

If you want to see what will happen, look to England. First the hand guns,
then the long guns, now the swords and knives. And their crime rate has gone
up and up. Look to Europe, some of the toughest gun laws in the world. They are
snowed under with terrorists raping, shooting and bombing their people. In my
opinion these people are subjects. Look at Australia, they required all citizens to
turn in their guns and now they are trying to figure out why the crime rate is going
up. Gee I wonder why?
The question is are you a citizen or a subject?
As a subject you are at the whims of a Government, the law, the rich and connected,

& terrorist elements. As a subject, the police are not required to protect you, they
will protect who ever is in the power seat. If you are poor or not connected,
you are on your own. I live in the desert of NW Arizona, my neighbors house was broken
into, it took the sheriff four days to show up. Now I do not fault the sheriff, they have a
large county to cover and few officers. Because of this we are on our own.
We fought a war in 1776 to be free of the whims of a King, we did not want to be
subjects, we wanted to be citizens.
Now they are trying to make us subjects again. Sorry I will not be a subject,

Connecticut passed some of the toughest gun laws in America in 2013 in response to the Sandy Hook shootings! The laws targeted GOOD GUY GUN OWNERS and not the bad guys with guns, the ONLY thing these laws did was to increase the murder rate, amongst the drive by shooters, gang bangers, felons, and mental cases, by triple digits. NOT ONE OF THOSE LAWS MADE MY TEACHER DAUGHTER AND HER LITTLE CHARGES SAFER, NOT ONE!

The Second Amendment is quite clear … “shall not be infringed”. There is no asterisk attached to the word ‘Infringed’, therefore ALL gun-control laws are unconstitutional.

Common sense might be to compare the gun laws in just two areas in this country… Chicago or Washington DC, compared to two towns near Atlanta, GA = the first two have strict gun CONTROL laws and a VERY HIGH crime rate while the two towns near Atlanta have gun OWNERSHIP laws and a VERY LOW overall crime rate (that includes parking tickets). Gun CONTROL laws only restrict lawful American citizens… Spoons make people fat, and cars make drivers drunk = SAME LOGIC.

Liberals do not care how many unarmed people are killed or wounded. They usually have bodyguards with guns, and the chaos and violence keeps only them in power. That is the principle that Chicago operates on, with the aldermen, Mayor, Judges, and connected gangsters allowed to have gun permits. The new Illinois permit law really rankles them, but they will continue to shake down legitimate CCW holders and make gun ownership as hard as possible.
