Commonsense is a really uncommon thing. Especially when you’re talking about emotionally charged subjects like gun control.
People on the anti-2A side of the fence tend to get so emotionally wrapped up in the horror of gun violence that they stop thinking rationally about how to actually cause gun violence to decrease.
That’s why they keep pushing for gun control: it’s an emotional response, not something that has been rationally thought out.
But, hey, don’t take my word for it. You need to think for yourself, too, by looking at the facts around gun violence and the effect (or lack of effect) that gun control has on gun violence in the real world.
Fortunately, if you’re one of those people who really hate combing through statistics to get that information, the Foundation for Economic Education, often simply called FEE, has a short, 2:27 video that they put together with Seamus Coughlin over at FreedomToons (remember that fun cartoon that we showed you here?) that goes through the details pretty quickly for you. You can see it below.
Yes, Seamus covers all of the basic arguments that you typically hear anti-2A people spit out including arguing that gun bans in the U.K. decreased gun crimes (they didn’t. Violence spiked when guns were banned.) and saying that gun confiscation saved lives in Australia when the fact is that gun violence was already decreasing at the same rate before the gun ban there that it was after the gun ban (in other words, the gun ban didn’t change the trend in gun violence, but it did enable the Australian government to put their own people in internment camps over CoVid concerns).
The fact of the matter is, in the real world, gun bans only prevent law abiding citizens from being able to defend themselves from people who weren’t obeying laws anyway.
It’s not a hard concept to understand, but it is fun to watch it animated, so, watch it again above, if you’d like.

Oh those guns. Just yesterday my RUGER MINI-14 got away and shot at a dog and when I heard it I want out to see how was doing on, but that MINI ran back into the house before I found it. Dang, was I mad! I guess that I must call the company about that! Was I mad just like all of the people who think that “Guns” are damage because it couldn’t be the “dumb people”!!!!!!

Consider the fallacy of laws aimed at the Fourth Amendment (Search and Seizure). Would you tolerate laws giving the police the right to enter your home at anytime to search for evidence? Passing laws has been the strategy of the left to steal our freedoms.

I live in Arizona which is a RIGHT TO CARRY STATE. I NEVER leave home without my BLACKHAWK holster and my GLOCK 9mm on my side!! I am a Retired Correctional Officer from the Maximum-Security Prison in Florence, Arizona. We DID NOT carry a GLOCK when on duty BUT we were trained on how to use a GLOCK 9mm if ever needed!! The last statistics show that 95%+ of all law enforcement personnel carry a GLOCK because of their dependability. The thing I like about a GLOCK is that they don’t have a safety! Once I pull the slide back, chamber a round, I can fire and continuously empty a 15-round clip! I can either shoot to kill or shoot to wound. I can empty a 15-round clip in a 4″ circle from 30 yards. The definition of GUN CONTROL is being able to hit your target!!
As I just said, Arizona is a RIGHT TO CARRY STATE. This is a PROMISE and NOT A THREAT!! I not only ENCOURAGE but INVITE Biden, Harris, Pelosi, Schumer, ANY and ALL other D E M O C R A P S to set foot on my property. They will be shot and terminated on site for trespassing!
