You Won’t Believe BIZARRE Thing Old Man Did After His Gun Jammed

We’ve all had it happen. You’re pulling the trigger, trying to put bullets into the target, and your gun jams. It’s never fun, and you hope that it only ever happens to you at the range.

But what do you do if you’re being attacked and your gun jams? That’s the situation that you hope and pray never happens.

Unfortunately, for an older man in Seattle, Washington (of all places), this is exactly what happened to him. How he responded, though, may be the weirdest part of this entire story. Joseph Mackinnon writes,

A 71-year-old man and his 61-year-old wife returned to their home in Seattle’s North Beacon Hill neighborhood around 1:30 p.m. Sunday to find the place in disarray. The kitchen window was shattered. Various items were out of order. The homeowner ventured farther inside to find the culprit lurking in his living room, wielding a pitchfork.

Apparently, the man attempted to use his fists against the pitchfork before getting his gun from his bedroom and attempting to shoot the intruder. But the gun jammed. Mackinnon continues:

Since lead didn’t work, the homeowner opted for steel.

Police indicated that after his firearm failed him, the 71-year-old drew his samurai sword and skewered the suspect.

Again, from Mackinnon:

The suspect was arrested for first-degree burglary. After receiving medical treatment for his stab wound at Harborview Medical Center, he was booked into King County Jail on $150,000 bail.

Everyone lived, thankfully, but can you imagine being on the receiving end of that 911 call? Your gun jammed, and you did what?

Still, this older gentleman deserves our respect as he was willing to do whatever it takes to protect his wife and household.

Good for him. I hope that he uses better ammunition next time, though, so that his gun doesn’t jam.
