When An Illegal Gun Owner Is The One Enforcing The Law

I have to give some grudging respect in the story that we have today in that it takes some serious… gall… to pull this one.

I’m not talking mild, slight stomach irritation type of gall that you can get rid of by chewing a couple of antacid tablets.

No, I’m talking full-on acid-reflux-inducing, I would have caught it from my parents hard if I’d shown that kind of gall as a kid type of gall.

That’s impressive.

It doesn’t make it any less illegal, though.

So, if the accusations are true, it’s hard to have much sympathy for this person for not only illegally having a gun but, also, being the person to enforce laws to take firearms away from gun owners in Illinois. No sympathy at all. Jill McLaughlin writes,

Federal immigration agents arrested a sworn police officer working in Illinois on Oct. 16, who they say has been in the United States illegally for 10 years.

Radule Bojovic worked for the Hanover Park Police Department, about 35 miles northwest of Chicago, according to the city’s records.

Bojovic, a citizen of Montenegro in southeastern Europe, originally entered the United States on a B-2 tourist visa that required him to leave the country on March 31, 2015, federal officials reported.

It is a felony for an illegal immigrant to possess a firearm, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin questioned Illinois’s sanctuary policies that allowed Bojovic to be hired as a police officer.

“Radule Bojovic violated our nation’s laws and was living illegally in the United States for 10 years—what kind of police department gives criminal illegal aliens badges and guns?” McLaughlin said in a statement.

Now, I know that you’ll be surprised that “The department’s police chief, Andrew Johnson, said in June that his officers ‘do not participate in immigration enforcement activities or investigations.’”

Of course they don’t.

If you or I violate a gun law, we get crucified (especially in Illinois), but if an illegal immigrant does that? They don’t want to enforce the law, then.

But that’s standard hypocrisy from the anti-2A side of the political aisle: gun control only applies when it’s to pro-2A people, not when it applies to themselves.
