One of the fundamental ideas behind gun control and all forms of limiting access to guns is that, by preventing people from legally purchasing firearms, this will somehow prevent criminals and people intent on doing evil things from getting guns.
The problem is that the real world reality shows over and over that this doesn’t work. Don’t believe me? Here’s a real world example proving that gun control doesn’t work. I’m not talking about Chicago or Baltimore or New York City.
No, the gun control paradise that is being overrun by black market firearms that we’re going to talk about today is Europe.
Yes, Europe. Land of progressivism and government control. And yet another proof of the failure of gun control. Bill Wirtz writes,
Numbers by the Switzerland-based Small Arms Surveyshow that unregistered weapons outnumbered legal ones in 2017 by 44.5 million to 34.2 million.
According to a recent Rand Corp. report:
Europe represents the largest market for arms trade on the dark web, generating revenues that are around five times higher than the US. Firearms listings (42 percent) were the most common listings on the dark web, followed by arms-related digital products (27 percent) and others, including ammunition (22 percent). Pistols were the most commonly listed firearm (84 percent), followed by rifles (10 percent) and sub-machine guns (6 percent).
But you may ask why Europe is seeing this explosion in black market gun purchases. The simple answer? Fear. Europeans are scared. They are scared of violent crime including mass shootings, and they are beginning to realize that, despite the promises of their governments, their governments can’t be everywhere to protect them.
So, what do they do? They find other ways to buy guns. And that has always been the way that it works.
Supply and demand. It’s a simple concept that anti-gunners don’t seem to understand. People want to stay safe, but there are a limited number of police officers to keep them safe. This means that people go looking for other ways to protect themselves. This means black market guns.
It doesn’t take a genius to understand this, but it does take someone willing to be honest about how the world works. Gun control is a failure, and Europe is just more proof of that.

The real reason for gun control is to let the government control you easier. One of reasons the 2nd Amendment was written.

This is NOT a “fundamental idea”, but a BIG LIE. The whole idea of “gun control” is to disarm the VICTIMS ONLY, and to enslave the people: a basis for socialism.
And, of course, a big lie is not true: only more blatant than a little lie.
And, of course, Big Brother does not care what happens to the victims at all, AT BEST. At worst is another genocide.
Right on and exactly the point. To disarm the citizens. PROOF they ste trying to get rid of the citizens CONSTITUTION. IT IS BEING TRIED CONTINUOUSLY FROM THE DEMONCRATS. NEED TO ARREST OBUMMER AND SOROS AND THE CLINTONS WHO ARE THE RING LEADERS. SOCIALIST LEADERS.
You must remember this, when seconds count the police are only 25 to 30 minutes away.
We all know that 9 out of 10 gun grabbers are really not concerned about our safety. It’s about votes or possibly personal gain. The figures stated in Switzerland bring up the question maybe some of our gun grabbers are connected to black market sales of guns for the tremendous profits obtained? Way out there? Who knows for sure?
I only wonder just how many times this fact has to be proven over and over again.

This just proves that politicians really don’t care about you,me or anybody except for them selves it’s been proven time and time again that this does not work either they are very stupid which is my guess or it’s a political stunt to climb the political ladder either way we cannot allow this to happen in the first place what part of shall not be infringed do they not get plus the more of us law abiding Citizens makes this country a safer place PERIOD end of story I know when I’m out and about the sheep around me are safer and they don’t even know it. we need a well armed legal militia to stand up and fight if the time ever comes that they do infringe just like The Minutemen of history
i agree with most all of your comment except the well armed legal militia. we all ready have that. it’s called the people. what we don’t need is another group that can be politicized and therefore eventually controlled by government dweebs.
Hate to say it, but I see women as the drivers of this anti-gun movement. Too many get
it in their heads that they can just take away what they are afraid of, and refuse to see how
wrong they are…. that criminals will not obey laws. Many of them don’t seem to be able to
think for themselves… afraid of disagreeing with their friends. And, there are more women
being voted into Congress, and now running for President, than ever before. They are also
more apt to teach their kids that guns are the problem than to teach them that lack of personal
responsibility is the problem. Then there are men who cater to them for votes. I, too, fear
for our rights.
Just my opinion, if you point a gun at a demoncrap and miss, you do not have gun control.
