Have you ever watched an action movie and wondered about some of the guns that they have in those movies? In the movies, those guns can seem so cool. Maybe they made you consider being a police officer or to wish that you’d lived in the old west.
One type of firearm that you see in movies that you don’t see as often in real life are tactical shotguns, but now is your chance to get a feel for one as Remington recently released the V3 Tac-13 (hat tip to here for the lead). Remington’s website describes the Tac-13 this way:
The Remington V3 Tac-13 represents the ultimate in compact personal defense regardless of where your journey takes you. From the comfort of your own home, to the remote wilderness the V3 Tac-13 offers the assurance that no matter what you encounter in the world you will have adequate means to defend yourself or those you love from any threat.
The Remington website continues with these details:
- BIRDSHEAD PISTOL GRIP
Allows for more ergonomic hold to help control the firearm and reduce recoil for the shooter.- HAND STRAP
User adjustable to help control muzzle flip and improve handling characteristics.- LIGHTWEIGHT ALUMINUM RECEIVER
For easy, comfortable transport anywhere.- 13″ LIGHT CONTOUR BARREL
Compact and easy to carry anytime its needed- RELIABLE FEEDING
Gas system optimized to run common light field loads or full power buck and slug and anything in between- LOW RECOIL
Patented Versaport gas system is self regulating and offers very manageable recoil in a compact package
If you look at the image above, you’ll see how sleek this firearm is, and, if you’ve only fired shotguns with a shoulder stock, then the Tac-13 may be something new for you to have some fun with at an area safe for shooting.
So, if you’re in the market for a tactical shotgun, take a look at the Remington Tac-13 to see if it is what you are looking for.
Nice Weapon! Easier to maneuver in close quarters!
I don’t have a website I’m a retired Marine & LEO
what is the ‘minimum’ legal length for a shotgun? … j
This particular gun is not classified the same as a regular shotgun. In a way it’s classification is similar to that of an AR Pistol.
Minimum length of a shotgun barrel is 18 inches if it was originally configured as a shot gun. In other words if the shot gun was of regular design you can cut the barrel off to 18 inches. Since this was designed as a special kind of weapon it will be legal for now. Hard telling in the future with the democrats gaining momentum again.
Mossberg 590 shockwave is better in my opinion
Dave P. Please explain, It say’s PUMP; and’ GAS SySTEM; Can it be both? I’m a little rusty on the techs!
Pump is to re chamber a fresh round; Gas is the means by which recoil is minimized. Good combo of both systems. Rem 870
for me
When reading the review in my NRA magazine I thought they said it was semi auto. I’ll check to make sure I’m not mis-remembering.
No it is a SEMI AUTOMATIC.
Definitely a semi from just looking at the picture, let alone the copy accompanying it. Who wrote this headline, anyway? Not a person familiar with shotguns, I guess.
sure looks like a semi- auto to me …
The V3 Tac-13, from what I can find out, is a semi-auto firearm, not a pump action.
This particular Model is SEMI AUTOMATIC per the REMINGTON WEBSITE I put in the Model Number and it listed it as SEMI AUTOMATIC FIRE.
I would have to call this a “model meant to fail” given today’s climate and what this is …
Is this a model 1100? To bad it’s illegal in California if your out in the field.
