Charges Filed Against Man For Alleged Trump Assassination Attempt

The people who hate Donald Trump are apparently getting desperate. Multiple attempts have been made on his life just within the last two years. And his crime? That the leftist media and Democrats hate him.

Pretty strong reasons to want to assassinate him, right? (You’ll notice my sarcasm in writing that…)

If you’ve been reading this site for even a short time, then you’ll remember how the White House Correspondents Dinner was locked down due to shots being fired (you can read more here). That was just within the past week or so at the time of this writing.

Well, now, charges have been filed against the guy, and those charges allege that he wasn’t there trying to peacefully work out a business deal with anyone. Stacy Robinson and Jackson Richman write,

The Department of Justice has charged Cole Allen, the suspect in the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting, with the attempted assassination of President Donald Trump.

During a brief court appearance on April 27, Allen was also charged with transporting a firearm across state lines with intent to commit a felony and discharging a firearm during a crime of violence. If convicted, Allen faces life in prison and hundreds of thousands in fines.

But the situation gets worse for Cole. Andrew Goudsward writes,

The U.S. Justice Department added a charge of assault ‌on a federal officer with a deadly weapon to the case against the man accused of trying to assassinate President Donald Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner at the Washington Hilton last month.

The new charge, which formally accuses the suspect, Cole Allen, of firing at a U.S. Secret Service agent at a security checkpoint, is part of a new four-count indictment returned by a federal grand jury in Washington. The other three counts are charges Allen previously faced including attempted assassination, discharge of a firearm during a crime of violence and illegal transportation of a firearm and ammunition across state lines.

Whatever charges get dismissed (if any) in this case, it seems likely that Cole is going to be spending a long time behind bars.

And, frankly, if he is guilty of what he is charged with, he should. Disagreements over politics should never lead to physically harming other people. That’s just completely unacceptable.
