BIG News For Hunters

For those of you who hunt, you know that finding a good lease can be a pain in the neck.

Too often, they haven’t been taken care of or they’re too expensive to be practical. Or you simply can’t do the different types of hunting that you want to do all on the same lease.

It can put a real damper on a hunter’s passion.

There is good news, though, which may provide some relief from all of these challenges for many hunters. The NRA-ILA recently reported on a new policy change by the federal government.

This week, the Department of the Interior (DOI) announced it will be issuing a proposed rule that would result in the largest expansion of hunting and sport fishing opportunities in agency history.

The proposal opens or expands more than 1,450 hunting and sport fishing opportunities, which will result in 95% of the National Wildlife Refuge Systems to be available for hunting.

Furthermore, the DOI announced it will work with the National Park Service to remove bureaucratic red tape that discourages sportsmen and women from utilizing our nation’s most treasured natural resources.

Now, I may not be a hunter myself (nor do I play one on TV), but I have many friends who are passionate about it and are out there every season: deer, quail, turkey, bow, black powder, you name it. Anything available in the area.

There are folks like that all across the country, and opening up additional federal lands for hunting gives them more (and sometimes better) options for being out in the great outdoors looking for food and trophies.

So, if you’re looking to spread your wings a bit and to find new lands to hunt on, be sure to look into these expanded hunting areas on federal lands. You might find just what you’re looking for.
